Staff was nice and friendly especially reception staff, and they have upgraded our room for two nights to deluxe suite due to not being able to come on the day of booking so really nice gesture! Breakfast was really good, you were able to choose from lots of different meal options and every day was slightly different. Beach from the hotel was okay sandy/city beach. Proximity to nice beaches with car is really good as Falasarna is only 40 minutes away by car, Balos is also close if you want to find tours with ship etc.

We returned from staying in the Marika hotel last week. Firstly it lovely and clean. The staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are modern and spacious. Its in an excellent location on the seafront & also surrounded by restaurants, shops, doctors, car hires, bus stops etc! We had bed and breakfast and the breakfast buffet had a good variety including cereals, breads, eggs, meat, fruits, spreads, cakes. Not as lavish as other hotel breakfasts but there was something for everyone and it was nice to have something to set us up for the day.

So many shops and places to eat, it's a bit like a time warp...
So many shops and places to eat, it's a bit like a time warp with no people pestering trying to get you to buy fake sunglasses and watches, even the shop/bar & restaurant staff leave you alone and let you make your own decisions.
Also there is a world war 2 museum up the hill that is well worth a visit.

Good family oriented resort with lots of eating options from casual to more formal, international to traditional Cretan, close to visit Chania on an excellent bus service. Many handy Supermarkets for those wishing to self cater. Water shoes might be a good idea the beach is kind of sandy the shore is pebbly.

Busy main road, but many apartments off side roads. Good Greek bars and restaurants, which I prefer. Although lots of modern bars and shops if you want. Couple of dancing bars, not if your face, no nightclubs which is good. Restaurants serving tradition food - Nisos (by sea), Sonos (by sea). Drosia (side road). Great cocktails and drinks at Utopia, great staff, more Greek like.

Was just ok, the rooms are clean but the furniture is old and the towels stained. Breakfast was good but the same every day, the beach in front not so clean and full of little stones.
The employes war friendly, specially the cleaning ladies.
The garden was well cared of, lots of flowers and trees.
thank you Sofia for everything 💗 she waited for us late into the night, we had a late arrival, she helped us with a taxi to her place and back to the airport. She prepared cake, fruits, vegetables, cheese, juices,... She baked bread for us during our stay,... wonderful couple who rent this beautiful house, everything is near- shops, restaurants, beaches from 3 minutes walk... you just have to choose which one. I recommend it and when we are in Crete again, we will stay in this beautiful environment with these perfect people.
We stayed at Melina with two kids aged 7 and 3. I really appreciated the staff and the service. Everyone was very helpful and kind. We were accommodated very thoughtfully in a ground floor apt with a view to the kids playground and the sea. We had everything we needed. The room was cleaned daily. The location was perfect - direct access to the beach, and just a block away from the center of Platanias, where we could find grocery stores, restaurants and other entertainment.

- Room: We stayed in the newly renovated deluxe room with sea-view of the main building and it was great. Everything you need + Smart TV for streaming services

Platanias (area) is not my favourite place as it's pretty busy/crazy, but if you're going to stay there, this hotel is excellent in giving you a private vibe. Quiet, pool is great, there is parking, (selfishly) I got a room right overlooking the beach, but probably the best thing about the hotel is the staff. They are amazing, especially the front desk was very kind and helpful. I would 100% recommend this hotel.
Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Check in was very easy (we were checked in before I even realized). They did not have an upgrade for us on the day of the arrival but Ariadne truly went out of her way to get it for us the next day. Food was excellent, we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and went out for lunch to the town. The private beach and water activities were amazing.
We had an incredible experience at the Atlantica Caldera Bay! We were on our honeymoon and the sweet members of the staff surprised us with a honeymoon decorated suite! The resort is truly beautiful, the room was very nice and cozy, the staff was very friendly, the food was amazing and the town was very entertaining!

Exceptional value, location, service and comfort. Sophia has a beautiful home to share. It is just one block off the man road in Plantanias and two blocks from the beach. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Assuming you are looking for an apartment and not a hotel I cannot imagine there is a better place in the Chania area.
The pool was cleaned daily, the flowers throughout the pathways were beautiful, every staff member was friendly and professional, we were given mosquito repellent for the room on request, even a surprise birthday cake for my partner!

Excellent location, just seconds away from the beach and so many delicious restaurants around. The sea water was so pleasantly warm and before Platanias we’ve been at 3 other different beaches that were cold. Kiddos couldn’t get enough of swimming! We will be back, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Outside Heated pool for kids was great! Not many hotels in Crete have it (Or they might have indoor spa pool, but not allowed to kids). At end of oct, the other pools were quite chilly already.
Big rooms, big comfy beds, air ventilation and A/C in all rooms, beautiful hotel in and out. Great location in Platanias. Great staff and of course beach next to hotel.
