The hotel was very close to Rafina port and Athens International airport so we used the hotel for an overnight stay after returning by ferry from the Greek island. The hotel was a 15 euro taxi ride from Rafina port. We were kindly upgraded to a "premier" room that was very clean, spacious and had a great sea view. The pool area overlooking the sea was very nice and we spent the afternoon sipping cocktails in the sun. We had a small problem with our room and the hotel staff did everything they could to fix the problem immediately and provide us with a solution. So well done to Anna and her colleagues for their attentiveness. Our taxi was arranged for the morning (40 euros) to take us to Athens airport. So our stay was short but what we experienced was very good.

It's a typical hotel with well-furnished rooms equipped with everything needed for a short stay. The breakfast and dinner are satisfactory.
The only positive aspect of this hotel is the delightful Peggy and the taxi driver who provided our airport transfer, who also happens to be Peggy's husband :)
Overlooking the bay of Mati, 4-star boutique Cabo Verde hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with sea-view, private balcony.

The staff was amazing and super helpful after we had our flight delayed. They organised a taxi transfer for us for the following morning. Breakfast was also wonderful and we appreciated the walking distance to the nearest town.
Hotel Avra by Smile hotels is ideally located 200 metres away from Rafina’s port and just 90 metres from Rafina sandy beach.

Even though the standard twin room was quite small with the beds pushed together I couldn't fault the facilities. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bedside lights were in the right place for easy access along with the charging points for phone, it also had a small safe for personal valuable items. The shower was very powerful, water hot, plenty of towels and shower gel, toothpaste (even toothbrush) were supplied. There was an excellent selection of food for breakfast to cater for all tastes. From really healthy (chia seeds etc. to sprinkle) to not quite so healthy (fried egg, bacon, sausage) and everything in-between. So much choice, and as it was buffet you could be as greedy/restrained as you like and help yourself at your own leisure. It was available from 6am which was perfect as we were catching the early ferry.
Loved the airport pick up and drop off, it saved so much time trying to find suitable transportation. It is also a very short walk to the ferry port so there was no need to get a taxi. Will definitely be staying there again.

Felt very comfortable and safe as a solo female traveller. The transfers to and from the airport were very easy and Georgia who picked me up at the airport was super friendly.

Very small town but good selection of bars, restaurants and hotels. Always the sound of the sea gently lapping the shore.
A short walk out of town takes you to a smart restaurant called Samia and a lovely rustic Greek taverna serving fresh fish and both right by the sea.

We were welcomed with a smile and warm greetings. Informed us of the times food would be served, for evening and breakfast, asked if we needed anything, if so please ask. Quiet local area with a couple of places to eat out.
Quiet local area with a couple of places to eat out. Good food and a small local shop. The hotel is around 40 minutes to Athens town, taxi's are between 35 to 40€. 48€ if you book through the hotel. Local bus is hourly but to get to Athens you'd need to change and then get a train. We only went into Athens for one day via taxi and crammed everything in. If you book a return taxi it's cheaper. Athens Site-seeing, markets and local shops are fabulous. We walked around Mati but it's in the suburbs so no site-seeing. but our holiday was to relax and Mati hotel was perfect for that. We'd go again.

We liked the pool and beach view from our room.
We liked the pool and beach view from our room. We liked the outdoor dining option overlooking the beautiful Aegean Sea and good waiter service. We really liked our early morning swim in the lovely warm sea, on our last day in Greece before the long flight back to Australia. That was a highlight. I would recommend Mati as a relaxing option outside of the hectic city centre of Athens. I wished we’d stayed there longer.

Mati is well located near the Athens Airport.
Mati is well located near the Athens Airport.
For arriving or leaving Greece a nice stop. Also if you want to avoid loosing days by travelling by boat or plane to all kind of holiday locations in Greece it is a nice alternative as the coast at Mati is nice and the views are the same as on many Greek Islands.
Use your money to rent a car and visit the Peloponesos and Athens at your doorstep.
Mati is a quiet and small village without many stores.

A newly built hotel situated a very clam & quiet area.
Hotel breakfast staff are really nice.
The gym is bit small and around the hotel very few activities as there only 2-3 restaurant and only one small shop available. Nearest supermarket is about 50min walk.
Also, if you don’t have a car then getting to Athens is not easy by using public transport as you have to take a bus and then underground. The bus service is not good as they don’t seem to run according to a particular timetable. Most of the time we had to wait 30-50min by the bus stop and then bus journey to nearest underground another 50min.
We had a wonderful stay at NLH Mati Seafront. Location and the view from outdoor terrace is just spectacular. Staff members are very friendly and attentive. We stayed at one of the suites, must say it was great and the perfect size for us 3. Thank you Peggy for your hospitality, your positive personality really made an impact.
We will definitely come back again and we recommend this hotel to many other friends of ours from Switzerland.
The owner kindly met us and showed around the house, gave us a map of the town with information about cafes/restaurants, etc. The house and yard are spacious, cozy and comfortable, we found everything we needed. I really liked the interior details of the house. The entrance is monitored by a camera, so we felt safe. Great place for relaxing vacation! The owner made sure we were comfortable during our stay. Thank you, Sarantos!
Excellent property close to Athens (30min) away from the crowds in excellent low key location in Attica right on the beach, where you can chose to swim in sea or pool. Hotel has been refurbished and has super helpful as well as friendly staff.
