The apartment was perfect for our vacation. Great position by the waters edge at the harbour and only a few minutes walk from the various restaurants and supermarkets. The views from the balcony were amazingly beautiful, the whole harbour is like a living, breathing painting. The accommodation was brilliant, clean and well presented, with a daily housekeeper who was both pleasant and efficient.

If small is good, this is the optimum location The vibrant harbour with its quayside cafe/bars with such a relaxed atmosphere, That same harbour changes to an even more chilled out scene upon the sun going down.

great island, Emporio is the main town and where most people stay. Beaches are easily accessed on foot or by boat taxi. All the tavernas are on the waterfront, We ate twice at Marias, once at Kifi Grill and twice at Magefseis, all served great food served by friendly people. The bakery was great for breakfast. Pondamos beach is about a 15 minute walk, just over the hill. Lovely beach, well managed with Nick`s Taverna, also great food.

Have been waiting a long time to get to Halki based on a friend's recommendation. She is a long time visitor as are a lot of others that we met. Must say at times it felt like an old boys club! There isn't very much to do and if you enjoy walking you need to go in May/early June or late September. We had a slight breeze whilst we were there but it was close to 30 degrees and there is very little shade. Halki is hilly so you are constantly going uphill! The back lanes can be difficult to navigate if you have mobility issues, steps are uneven in places and only some areas have tarmac. We didn't think the food was anything to write home about. It wasn't bad, just not the best we have had in the Greek islands. We loved how quiet the place is and the people are lovely and welcoming. We will definitely return.

the peace and relaxation of the harbour front without the noise of cars was wondeful! everyone was in the 'go slow mode' meaning nothing was rushed or hectic. there were so many differeant tavernas to choose from to eat in and plenty of seating in cafes and pattiseries to spend the time of day in.. Halki is a very clean and rubbish free island. people are very friendly and willing to help whatever your needs. Beautiful walks and cute little beaches to visit. Take the water Taxi to Kania beach and spend a lazy day being waited on the tiny beach

Halki has changed over the last 30 years.

Halki has changed over the last 30 years. There are more bars, tavernas and shops but, because of its unique layout and architecture it remains fundamentally unchanged. It's colourful, quirky, peaceful and beautiful. The ideal place to completely unwind. Not for you if you're into discos and casinos. Not for you if you're frail and can't cope with uneven paths and steps... a delight for the rest of us.

Beautiful harbour with restaurants all around.Small, can walk end to end in 10 minutes.Very quiet.Picturesque cobblestone alleys and steep steps behind.Nice beach 500metres walk away. Can walk 3k to a knights castle along a crazy paved road, then up a steep stepped path.

House Galini is located in a perfect spot, right on the sea front, so sitting on the balcony and gazing at the sea, the boats and the island life is totally enjoyable. The room was very clean and well-equipped and the owners really nice and hospitable. Even though the location is as central as it gets (for example, the closest tavern is just 10 meters away), there is nothing to disturb your calmness or your sleep.

We had an amazing stay at Kleanthe ! The location is the best, close to the beach and to the port. The house itself is in mint condition, equipped with all useful amenities and sparkling clean! Kleanthe is a magic - great host, always very responsive and helpful in every way and always with a big smile. I would recommend it unreservedly, it is a top choice for visiting Halki. Thank you so much Kleanthi.

The Stone House is conveniently located, just a short walk from the port (where all the tavernas and café-bars are located) and, at the same time, a short walk from the main organised beach of Halki. The air conditioning works perfectly. The host, Ms Matia, is kind and helpful. She welcomed us at the port and helped us to carry our luggage to the house.

Beautiful apartment. We got a very warm personal welcome at the ferry. Dorothea was very friendly and helpful. The apartment is very close to the ferry, very big, very well equiped and the view from the big balcony is stunning. We would love to stay at Villa Chrysodimi longer next time we are on Chalki.

Super comfortable house that instantly felt like home. There was a nice kitchen with an induction stove, some amenities and the host had even left a surprise gift for us when we arrived. The communication with the host worked and it was just a perfect place to relax after sunny days in Chalki island.

Location is just amazing, right on the seafront and very peaceful, and despite being a studio, the place feels large because of the high ceiling. I also found the studio quiet compared to other places I've stayed on Halki. I even managed to sleep through the festival!
