Great city for short getaways in the surrounding area, lots to see and do. We visited Zagorohoria, Metsovo, Tzoumerka and the city of Ioannina. It was quite cold and foggy in the mornings but overall we were lucky to have great weather as we heard that it usually rains a lot. Great nightlife options for food and drinks and the city was vibrant due to the Xmas spirit. Would highly recommend visiting.

Beautiful green and historical city by the lake. University city where students and locals keep it bustling day and night all year round.
We arrived mid September which meant local workers and school and university students had gone back. Constantly alive with people in the streets and establishment not only on weekends but during the week. Incredible food and coffee in the restaurants and cafes not only lining the lake but also further in. Modern and traditional restaurants everywhere affordable and upmarket. We ate out all the 5 days we were there. Great city to stay in but also as a base to surrounding landmarks and places. Can not wait to go again and stay in this area for at least 14 day.

Ioannina is not a very common tourist destination, but it has some interesting history, and old town and a scenic lake and island. it is centrally located between the coastal area of Parga and the Vikos gorge in the mountains. Also Meteora is not far away. As many cities in Greece it suffers from traffic congestion, noise and trash though.
Great experience at Z hotel. We stayed only one night but it was the perfect choice. Comfortable, modern and big room, amazing breakfast (like a brunch indeed), and the best hospitality! Nicos and Iota are great hosts and we were lucky to get to meet them and learn more about Greek culture and their region. The hotel is 5-10 min walk from the center and main restaurant area, and is in front of the lake. The walk around the lake is really nice!
If location is your top priority, this is the place. The Location! It was absolute central location and perfect location, a 5 mins walk away from any p.o.i around the city center. Food, bars, drinks and coffee all around! Parking was good, enough to go around but somewhat narrow.

The elegant hotel is located in a renovated classic building right in the city center ot Ioannina and there is a parking nearby which is highly appreciated. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Beautiful clean room with a comfortable Cocomat bed. Breakfast also very good with fresh orange juice, greek yoghurt and fresh fruit.
Excellent location in the center of the city. Walking distance of most sightseeing, shops, bars, Ioannina Lake, Castle, carrying a 1-year old kid. There is parking place next to the apartment and we rode our car only for trips outside Ioannina. Most important, after asking the owner he provided a small bed for our kid.
Kastro is a comfortable hotel located within the old city walls. They catered the best breakfast of any of our hotels in Greece with a delcious range of savoury and sweet continental style offerings. Drip coffee was provided. The rooms were large and comfortable. It is an easy walk to restaurants and the lake front.
Such a cute property in the center of Ioannina, with all the bars and restaurants a short walk away, yet tucked away in a quiet area. We loved the small details such as the key rings souvenirs and personal hygiene travel kits. Cool rooms and comfortable beds ensured we rested well during our stay.
Nice to have an elevator in Greece. The apartment was alone on the last floor so we had total privacy. There are a lot of restaurants and kiosks in a walking distance. They gave us free 5 small bottled water. The owner Yannis is very nice and everything we asked for he accommodated us with.
Mrs Vanna is an amazing hostess who will do anything in her power to satisfy your accommodation needs. The apartment itself is spacious, comfortable with quite a few hotel amenities. Easy parking on the street and a great place overall for your visit at Ioannina.
The host is very very accommodating and helpful. We felt at home here. The apartment itself was by far my favourite stay in all of Greece. Loved the kitchen and the space overall. It was located outside of Ioannina, but I would stay again despite this factor.
The hotel is not in the center, but nearby and close to the lake. There is a beautiful panorama from the terrace. The rooms were clean and spacious. There was an additional bed for the kid as requested and private parking. The breakfast was delicious.
