Great city for short getaways in the surrounding area, lots to see and do. We visited Zagorohoria, Metsovo, Tzoumerka and the city of Ioannina. It was quite cold and foggy in the mornings but overall we were lucky to have great weather as we heard that it usually rains a lot. Great nightlife options for food and drinks and the city was vibrant due to the Xmas spirit. Would highly recommend visiting.

Beautiful green and historical city by the lake. University city where students and locals keep it bustling day and night all year round.
We arrived mid September which meant local workers and school and university students had gone back. Constantly alive with people in the streets and establishment not only on weekends but during the week. Incredible food and coffee in the restaurants and cafes not only lining the lake but also further in. Modern and traditional restaurants everywhere affordable and upmarket. We ate out all the 5 days we were there. Great city to stay in but also as a base to surrounding landmarks and places. Can not wait to go again and stay in this area for at least 14 day.

Ioannina is not a very common tourist destination, but it has some interesting history, and old town and a scenic lake and island. it is centrally located between the coastal area of Parga and the Vikos gorge in the mountains. Also Meteora is not far away. As many cities in Greece it suffers from traffic congestion, noise and trash though.

Nice town - not too big, not too touristy with lots of sites for all tastes a short distance away, from museums to hiking and rafting and lovely mountain villages, archeological ruins, a stalagmite cave and plenty more. Everybody is awfully nice and accommodating .
This hotel was the best! The staff are super friendly.
The room is very clean with a comfortable mattress and pillows. The hotel is within walking distance of pretty much anything you want to do in Ioannina. We found parking right outside of the hotel. They gave us a parking pass to put on our dashboard.
The breakfast is amazing - cheese, meat, olives, tomatoes, bread, croissants, juice, coffee, and baked goods from a local bakery. The staff will even make eggs to order!
Overall, we loved our stay and would love to come back! :-)

The room was very clean and spacious. One of the best hotels I have stayed in within Greece. Super comfortable and warm. The breakfast had lots of options including many greek homemade dishes which were delicious.

The location is wonderful - front line view to the lake. It is 7-10 minutes drive to Ioannina center, so you'll need a car, but there are a few restaurants in walking distance. We booked a room with a lake view and really enjoyed seating in the balcony. The breakfast is rich with coffee, orange juice, breads, several pies, vegetables, cakes, bacon and eggs. The spa is a room with a small heated pool with jets and a sauna, which is booked in advance for an hour.
Great experience at Z hotel. We stayed only one night but it was the perfect choice. Comfortable, modern and big room, amazing breakfast (like a brunch indeed), and the best hospitality! Nicos and Iota are great hosts and we were lucky to get to meet them and learn more about Greek culture and their region. The hotel is 5-10 min walk from the center and main restaurant area, and is in front of the lake. The walk around the lake is really nice!
We initially decided on this hotel due to its proximity to the city center. It turned out to be a great stay. The rooms were spacious, elegant and most importantly, spotless. There were two available parking locations for anyone traveling by car at two different price levels, both of which were very close to the hotel. The receptionist, Vasilis, was also very helpful and gave us plenty of advice on how to best experience Ioannina.
Agnantio is a lovely traditional Greek hotel. our room was a basic accommodation, but clean, roomy, and comfortable. The views from our balcony over the lake and the town of Ioannina was stunning. It is also well situated to visit the Perama Cave. The breakfast, served to our outdoor patio table, was a feast of fruit, eggs, bread and homemade pastries, freshly squeezed juice, and coffee of our choice.
Great location on the edge of the old town. Lots of bars and restaurants in the area. Easy to walk to the main sights in town castle and ferry. A bit hard to find using google maps (but google maps in Greece is not very good- so keep that in mind). Not easy to find free parking near the hotel. Well appointed room, with all the facilities required to be fully self sufficient. I would come back!
It is a spacious place exactly in the tourist center of Ioannina. Its amenities are of high standards. Everything well thought off and clean. The apartment is in two levels. Both have a bathroom and a double bed. All of them in excellent conditions and very clean. I was not able to see the remains of previous guests - which is rare !
Hotel Antique nice a small hotel in the center of the city great location. the rooms were nice and cozy the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly, and the owner Mrs Yuly was very ,freindly and hostible , the is a parking lot 200m from the hotel that cost 5 euro a day.

Excellent location in the center of the city. Walking distance of most sightseeing, shops, bars, Ioannina Lake, Castle, carrying a 1-year old kid. There is parking place next to the apartment and we rode our car only for trips outside Ioannina. Most important, after asking the owner he provided a small bed for our kid.
