The staff/owners went above and beyond in their attention as well as should there be any problems they with dealt with ASAP.
As our taxi airport transfer wasn’t due until 1400 hrs they allowed us to check out late obviously this is dealt with a case by case as the hotel occupancy at any one time may effect the possibility.

From the minute we arrived the reception team were welcoming, our room was sizeable plenty of storage and exceptionally clean. For all inclusive the food was a wide selection and fresh and tasty serving staff attentive. Pool bar for cocktails and drinks with extensive selection. Plastic glasses a bit small for wine but if you sit at the bar, rather than tables you can get proper glasses. Entertainment each night was good staff were fantastic especially Fakir show.
Sunbeds were reserved by a lot of guests putting towels down poolside but found the day beds in the gardens much better for cooling sea breeze.

The swimming pool really well kept, salted water so i must say particular overall, the lady gave me immediately precise and correct infos about buses and supermakets and she was always available in case of Need. Pity that they are building right in front of the hotel were there was nothing before, so the view Is not so open anymore on the near beach but still good, the Crete Aquarium it's very nice to visit and i was lucky to stay so near we saw It twice included the VR

Gouves its a village, perhaps not as glamorous as Chania side of Crete but I liked it. Is a bit unpolished, I would say, not with that feeling of drowning under the - all included large hotel complexes and the tourist vulgo that comes with it. Its a more apartments district with greeks coming on vacations too. Plenty of taverns with prices ranging between; main courses 7-14€, drinks 5€ and cocktails 7€, breakfast 5-8€. It also has several Super markets, two of them larger with everything you need. All the above its at walking distance. 10 min with the car or moped from Gouves up inte mountains, you come to smaller villages like Hersonissos with fantastik tavernas and beautiful views.

A charming village, about 15 minutes from Heraqlion by bus (no. 2 from the airport).
Do NOT miss the Asteria taverna next to Lavris hotel: every Sunday and Tuesday a live performance of traditional Greek and Cretan music, with the beautiful Anna teaching Greek dances. It's not a tourist taveran (although there are tourists there of course) but aimed mainly for the locals. We will remember our two visits there as one of our unique experiences in Crete, and no doubt the most enjoable of them.

The day I was in Gouves the beaches were basically nonexistent due to the high tie and was very very windy. Walking along the sea was nice but given the nice beaches the island has to offer I'd rather go somewhere else or at least not stay there for long
The property was ideally placed with a perfect view of the sea and nestled between a range of restaurants and good public transport..
The property was modern, clean and the jacuzzi is a fantastic idea.. great shower lots of space and nice neutral decor.
The breakfast in the room was lovely with a variation everyday and staff could not do enough for you.. I would choose this again and again..
Love the quietness of the hotel but steps away from lively bars with friendly locals and staff. Waking and sleeping to the sound of the sea is calming.
What a lovely place. The grounds are just so beautiful and if you like your open space this is the place to stay. Rented the whole complex so had access to each of the apartments, all of which were really clean, tidy and cosy with great facilities.
Better if you have transport as the complex is situated off the main road via a dirt track but still can walk to the shops if you need anything.
Owners were just so kind and helpful with anything we needed.
Overall a great place to stay with the family and will definitely be going back again.
Beautiful small hotel, across the road from the beach and also has a good sized pool. Ideal for a relaxing family holiday. All inclusive food and drinks was lovely and great choice. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. There are shops close by but the main shopping area and restaurants are about a 15 minute walk along the prom. But if you want a relaxing holiday you have everything you need on your doorstep.
I will be returning again in the future.

This was our second visit to the Island Hotel and definitely not the last one. This hotel is a little piece of heaven for those who want to wind down and relax. The staff is extremely polite and friendly, the premises are spotless, the pools are heavenly and the food is absolutely delicious. We got a room upgrade this time and we are very grateful for that. We are looking forward to visiting the Island Hotel again!

the water park, the pools for children and adults were a real attraction, and to all the service providers in the hotel.
We were looking for accommodation with a lovely garden, outside of busy roads, with sounds of nature, secluded in an olive tree plantation, looking modern with all the necessary amenities. This is what we got along with a parking space for our rented car.
The apartment was perfect as a home base after a day-long Crete exploration. It really felt like home.
We had a great stay, rented 2 apartments for a week which were clean and well equipped. The location is amazing, right by the sea and a 10 minute walk to the beach. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable and the food in the restaurant was the best we had all week. Great value for the money, would highly recommend.
The hotel - situated on a not so beautiful piece of coast of Crete - had a very nice secluded atmosphere because of the way the several hotel-buildings were built. Apart from that, the staff was gentle in general and awsame with some individuals. That's how a stay becomes special in an overcrowded hotel-market.
The apartment is perfect, so clean and excellently equipped. You can park inside, The owner is incredibly nice. The beach is only 50 meters from the apartment, Super Market, bar, coffeeshop with breakfast just a 2-minute walk on the beach. If we will go back to Crete, we will choose the TEO again. No question.
Only animation guy George. That's all. There is nothing more to like about this hotel. We paid 2100€ for one week and its not worth even half of the price. NEVER AGAIN that place. We traveled in crete first week all over staying in different hotels they were way better. I wish I would never choose this place.
The apt. was brand new and comfortable & clean. The hosts were kind and helpful. Access to the beach was enjoyable & the location was close to the major attractions like the aquarium & Dinosaur Park. I definitely recommend this location & I would certainly stay there again.
