From the word go Elena and Nikos couldn't have been more helpful, both leading up to our stay and whilst we were there. They are truly the perfect hosts, always quick to reply to any question asked - even the request for them to put some beer and water in our fridge before we arrived was done with a smile :-)
We arrived late but had a wonderful welcome with a delicious chocolate cake, baked by Elena, waiting for us and we certainly couldn't have been more pleased when we saw the light & airy, spotlessly clean apartment that was to be our home away from home for the next 9 days.
Our beds were very comfortable and we had two balconies to choose from (Flat 1). Although we didn't cook ourselves, the kitchen was stocked with everything we would have needed had we decided to. The lovely Eva who looked after our room always greeted us with a big smile and a kalimera - thank you Eva!
Elena Apartments is just a two minute walk from the closest beach and also from one of our favourite restaurants in Almyrida - "Dimitris". The best tzatziki ever! Another great place especially for breakfast & and evening drinks, is "Francoise". A gem of a place just a three minute walk from the apartment. Here I would also like to mention Hassan Cafe, a beach cafe with sunbeds (not a lot) that are free to use for customers. We always got a wonderful welcome here.
I think It goes without saying that we truly enjoyed our stay at Elena Apartments, THANK YOU Elena & Nikos! And I can also say that we truly fell in love with the laid back, relaxing and friendly Almyrida!

I like the fact that is is not large and has a nice, laid back atmosphere. There are plenty of good tavernas & restaurants to try with excellent food at very reasonable prices. Our particular favourite was Thalami but there is a good selection and we didn't have time to try many others . There are also beautiful beach bars for drinks and snacks where you can sit and watch the world go by. Not a place to go if you are looking niteclubs.

Almirida is a nice little place on the beach 15km east of Chania and 35 min drive from Chania airport. There are a dozen or so restaurants, almost all by the beach. No big hotels or loud nightclubs which suits a quietish and relaxing stay. Loads of activities and trips accessible for those who want to do more than sit by a pool or on the beach.

A very nice village (maybe a dozen restaurant, about as many shops, some ice cream places, a playground and some nice sandy and relatively flat beaches). Everything in walking distance.. Every two hours connection with modern bus to Chania and nearby Kalives. Sadly no real sidewalk, but very slow traffic.

Nice and clean place. I loved the food from dinner. The staff was very nice , except Ada from breakfast. Because of her we couldn’t enjoy eating the breakfast on the outside terrace. We had to eat inside where the staff was really nice . Big thanks to Stepanos and Giorgios.

Almirida is a wonderful place to stay for families or...
Almirida is a wonderful place to stay for families or couples wanting a quieter resort. It is very picturesque with stunning views across the bay from the surrounding hills. We had delicious food at every restaurant we visited and the people were incredibly friendly and welcoming! We have fallen in love with this place and everything Crete has to offer! A truly special place on earth! We will be back!

Nice place with many tavernas and few shops and a pleasant atmosphere. In time of our visit (July 2023) the beach was not crowded what was fine. The grocery shop in the village was quite expensive. Some bakeries with a fine coffee. The sandy beach was not very big. The perfect place to discover the surrounding (Aptera, Chania, Apokoroni, Kournas lake, etc.)
Excellent location, directly on the beach in the centre of the village. Studio 5 is bright, has everything you need, and the bed is extremely comfortable. Elena and Nikos are lovely, they checked in with me to see if I needed anything and made sure I was OK, as a first time solo traveller this was really appreciated.
Almyrida is a beautiful village with traditional tavernas on the beachfront, serving delicious food. Francoise's cafe was a favourite for breakfast. I loved it so much that I'm booking to go back again in a few months.
Very clean apartment, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, very comfortable large bed, quiet and efficient air conditioning in each room, free parking space next to the apartment (both on the street and on the property), very nice and helpful owners (if the wifi broke down, they responded immediately and helped effectively), a quiet area and the town of Almyrida itself, close to grocery stores and taverns, close to the sea with a beach with pebbles, the sea visible and audible from the terrace. A nice welcome treat in the fridge.
The place was fantastic. The view is amazing and it is very relaxing, due to the fact that Almyrida is a small village that has still everything you might need. Artemis is a wonderful host who helped us a lot and welcomed us wonderfully. If you want to stay in this part of Crete i highly recommend to stay at villa Dina . You will have a relaxing vacation and can still reach the places you programmed, like balos, falasarna ecc.
This hotel is a hidden gem and we extended our stay because we loved it so much! The facility was brand new with beautiful views and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We had our dinners every night at the hotel because Chef Alex was so talented and every dish he prepared was so delicious. We will highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends for future stays.
Lovely spacious villa only 5 minute walk from the beautiful sandy Almyrida beach. Amazing see and mountain views. Generous welcome treats and essentials like bread, milk, fruit, water, snacks and wine. Thoroughly recommended for adults or families with older children (as quite a steep hill and stone steps). Responsive owner.
Just in front of the beach - no view at the sea! Very clean! Very well insulated! Very well equipped! Excellent communication! Very nice yard just outside the apartment! Welcome wine, water, biscuits, coffee......!! Definitely my choice at Almyrida next time!
The staff are super friendly, and very helpful. The hotel just opened up, everyone was trying really hard to make everything perfect. The location of the hotel gives a great sea view, and its only a minute away from shops and restaurants in Almyrida.
The staff couldn't do enough for us. Very helpful, you can tell they are new at it but they are so polite and helpful that it doesn't matter.
The view was spectacular and Almyrida is like 3 minutes walk away.
