It was amazing! The owner was so friendly, he even upgrated our room, so we were staying in a bigger and nicer apartament. The owner and his family were very kind. They helped us carry things to the apartment and offered us a bottle of water. The rooms were also cleaned every day. I think this was one of the nicest and friendliest hotels. I strongly recommend this accommodation, as it has a nice view and is in the center of the city and close to the port.

We stayed not too far from the port in Aegina Town.
We stayed not too far from the port in Aegina Town. The location was perfect. Many places to eat with amazing food and lots of shopping opportunities, I recommend hiring a car for one or two days and heading to one of the many other beaches that are further east. Agia Marina Beach is one of them. There are beaches that aren’t too far away and you can walk to, like Kolona Beach and the closest beach Avra Beach.

Beautiful beaches everywhere!
Beautiful beaches everywhere! The ports were cute and lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. The sea view restaurants added to the experience. Many sightseeing places to drive to as well. EASY to drive around the island. Noce experience taking the fast ferry from Piraeus to Aegina Port. Most beautiful and fine sand beach was Agina Marina. Danae Hotel was WONDERFUL. We got a spectacular sea view!!! Perfect time on Aegina!!

Aegina Town is a vibrant place full of cafes, restaurants, clothing and tourist shops. There are fruit sellers beside the marina selling the most delicious fresh fruit. It’s easy to visit the rest of the island using the local buses which cost only 2 Euros. A day trip to Ag Marina is highly recommended if you like swimming and sunbathing. The last group of beach umbrellas are free to use. You can buy drinks and food from the restaurant behind. They do beach service. Perdika is a nice day trip, especially if you go to Moni Island as well.
The Temple of Aphaia and Palachora are easily accessed by the local bus service. I enjoyed eating at Dromaki, where I had melt in your mouth, slow cooked lamb.

Aegina is a very pretty town with ferries coming and going all day, every day. Its only 40 mins from Piraeus, but a world away from the city. I visited in off season - November - but the weather was lovely at 23*C. There are plenty of places to eat along the waterfront, and it is an easy place to explore by walking, bus or taxi. You can hire bikes too just opposite the port. I visited the ruins & museum at the end of town; and travelled to other places on the island including the Temple of Aphaia, Agin Marina, and Paliachora. The people are very friendly. I could have easily stayed longer!

Aegina is a lovely small island, with nice beaches and many orthodox places to visit. Aegina town has loads of nice restaurants, coffee shops and shops. Being small, you can drive easily around the island.
My wife and I just spent a relaxing 5 days at Hotel Danae before going to a wedding near Athens. We loved the hotel, it’s in a great location about a 15 minute walk downhill to the shops and restaurants in Aegina town. It’s a 5 euro taxi trip back uphill. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are great. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.
Staff was super friendly and helpful, the view from the balcony was incredible and the location was great, just 10 mins walk from the town, and there is a great secluded beach just opposite the hotel. 100% recommend if you are staying in Aegina. The swimming pool is huge and perfect for exercising.
All the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room was nicely decorated and the bed comfortable. It’s really conveniently located for aegina town (all the photos I’ve added were taken within walking distance of the hotel).
I like very much the location, all the area is very beautiful, the port very close to the hotel, the shops also very close, the sf Nectarious at 15 min with the car,the beach is at 2 minutes walk .Yannys and his father very helpful
