We can definitely recommend Savanna's guesthouse. Temo is a really warm and welcoming host, you feel at home at once. It's obvious he takes it at heart to help others. We had Temo as a guide to the Vashlovani nature reserve and it was an amazing journey full of unexpected sights and discoveries thanks to Temo being constantly on the lookout for animals and archeological sites. He's really passionate and knowledgeable about nature, environmental issues, geology and history / archeological issues. To get back to the guesthouse itself : the space is huge, it's well equipped, there's a lush garden to chill outside, and the food was not only fine but copious.

Beautiful little cottages on the edge of the town, very close to Eagle Canyon. Teo and David have put a lot of love into this place and are super friendly. Everything feels very welcoming, and the garden is especially nice to hang out in. I would recommend having dinner here,, it was delicious and so much food! David knows a lot about the area and also gave tips on where to visit elsewhere in Georgia, which was very helpful.

Owners are very-very hospitable. Tamari and Zaza were always ready to help us. The apartment was very clean and very new. It was very pleasant to return to this place after our walking.

Thank you for this amazing stay. The whole family took care after us very well. Their home-made food was exceptionable - we recommend to try it (even the price was very reasonable for the amount you get!). Location right next to the Eagle canyon makes it good base for a short walk to this natural monument. Also, you are staying in a whole house with a beautiful garden and you are free to use the equipped kitchen! Parking (free) is on the road next to the house, but you are almost at the end of the road so it looked like a safe place. The home is equipped in modern style.

My host name was Khatuna. She is very friendly and helpful. She made me stay so enjoyable and comfortable. House location is perfect for a trip to Vashlovani national park. Khatuna speaks good English and she helped me organize a trip everywhere I needed to visit. She cooked delicious meals and had a great variety of options. Everything was better than I expected. I felt welcome and could relax and de-stress.

This is a gorgeous ranch, really special place. The meal we had was superb as well, as was the breakfast.

Centrally located and within walking distance to most sights. Lea was there to receive us when we arrived and got us help to carry our suitcases to our room.
Be aware that the double rooms (4 in number) are on the ground level while the two twin rooms are on the lower level which is accessible via a steep flight of steps. Those with mobility issues should be aware. Lea helped us with ironing and washing our clothes. Tea and coffee can be made at the central reception area where you can sit and chat or be in the balcony to enjoy the outdoors. We heard praises of her breakfast but we couldn’t have the pleasure since we were never there for it. Highly recommended.

Really interesting mud volcano site, also Eagle Canyon (with eagles) and some great views from monasteries perched on cliffs. We ate at the homestay and stocked up our own supplies from the supermarket. Plenty of taxis available. Regular bus service to Tbilisi. This is a very arid area which is very different to the rest of Georgia.

The Vashlovani protected area nearby is really the only reason for coming here and there is little in characterless Dedoplistskaro itself to recommend it. Although it's quite big, it can feel like a ghost town and even in the "centre" at a weekend, very few cars or pedestrians are to be seen! To get the most out of Vashlovani, it's best to visit on a two-day organised trip, which gives you the opportunity to see the even more remote spots in this remote area, and these trips can in fact be undertaken from Tbilisi or Sighnaghi. However, there are a couple of short hikes recommended by several travellers which can be made from Dedoplistskaro (and the routes are detailed on a notice board in front of the little park opposite the main church in the centre).
