The cooked breakfast was fine, and quickly served. The lunchtime and evening menus offered a good variety. I had a lovely lunch at a table overlooking the sea. There was a problem with the evening meal, but I was offered a partial refund. All of the staff were friendly, and one member of staff carried my heavy case up to my room. The decor was classic. Everywhere looked spotlessly clean. The location is ideal, on the coast road overlooking the sea and close to a bus stop.

Wee Silverburn, hotel in Whiting Bay

Located in Whiting Bay and only 18 km from Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park, Wee Silverburn provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

The location is above/overlooking the pretty village of Whiting Bay. 5-7 mins walk down a lane to the village. The hill is very steep so getting back up takes a bit longer with a bit more effort, but we are regular walkers so no problem for us. 7 mins drive/bus to Lamlash and 15 min drive/bus to Brodick. The bus stop is at the bottom of the lane and the service on the island is one of the best we have experienced in our travels around Scotland. Owners communication was excellent. Including directions on how to get to the cottage by car which was a little tricky driving up a single track/pot holed lane and without the directions I would have never found it! Really large cottage with front room and back room/dining room area. 3 bedrooms (although we only needed the one, it would be ideal for larger families), As well as a conservatory and a garden. Kitchen had pretty much every thing we would need for our stay. Private car parking. Overall, a very decent cottage for a holiday.

A green, quiet, area with a row of mature hotels and bed & breakfast places. The next bay to the busier Lamlash Bay which has shops, pubs and restaurants. A regular bus service that travels around the island one way and back to Lamlash and Brodick the other way. The view over to Arran's Holy Isle is something special. The beach is rugged but enjoyable to walk along. Although the hotels are on the coastal road, the amount of traffic is low.

Room was lovely - large superior room - breakfast was good.

Room was lovely - large superior room - breakfast was good. Very impersonal self check in and didn't meet owner/manager. Parking was outside on the road. Lamlash was good to eat in the evenings - Drift Inn and Pier Head Tavern - both recommended.

Whiting Bay is a lovely small village. It is right on the sea with a lovely beach. There is a big playing field with an area that has swings and climbing frames and a round a bout. There are plenty of walks around. A nice golf course too.

Nice, comfortable B&B. Size of the room and seaview perfect.

Nice, comfortable B&B. Size of the room and seaview perfect. Unfortunatelly no restaurant although it was indicated there was one. So had to drive to find one and it's advisable to book in advance to be sure to have a table.

Much quieter and more relaxed than other Towns in Arran. Glenashdale falls and the Giants Graves are well worth a visit - lovely walks in the area, with very few cars racing past day and night. Lovely, peaceful, beautiful scenery and a great restaurant at the Burlington too - highly recommended.

The location is peaceful and relaxing, with small quaint shops overcharging for the normal things that tourists might buy, very friendly locals too and the B&B we stayed in was lovely. The roads however, seem to built and maintained by rally enthusiasts, the fact that the narrow road leading to Seal Shore is not only incredibly steep (with massive amounts of undulation) but it also has numerous hairpin bends and massive drops on the left side, a few minutes into the trip and it suddenly makes sense why every other vehicle on the ferry over there is an SUV! The island may as well be sponsored by Land Rover, or failing that, the Subaru rally team. It is a nice little island though,10/10. I would probably risk death again to visit for a few days, but this time, im renting a Land Rover, and having a very light lunch...
