Parrs cottage, hotel in Welshpool

Featuring a spa bath, Parrs cottage is located in Wollaston. The 4-star holiday home features garden views and is 46 km from Ironbridge Gorge.

Beautiful setting and surroundings at the most perfect little cottage. I watched the birds feed and the squirrels scurry about eating all the foods left for them whilst I was just sitting at the garden swing reading and drinking my morning coffee. Absolute perfection!!! Jennie is an absolute treasure and such a wonderful wise, funny, gentle and unassuming host and quite possibly one of the most interesting and kind people I've ever met. I just wish I could've stayed a few extra nights as there's so much peace, comfort and space to simply be. I'll definitely be back.

Welshpool and Llanfair light railway was a thrill and enjoyable journey. The staff are friendly. A worth visiting. Welshpool town is lovely and friendly people. If you like the kind of witchy, hippy and spiritually, then do visit this shop, "The Witch of the Willows". i went in and feel relax, the smell is so nice is should stay longer and explore the shop. Andrew Logan museum of sculpture: it was amazing and unique experiences. You wont be disappointed. There's a tiny café. Lake Vyrnwy is an extraordinary and beautifu, peaceful location. a visit is a must too.

The friendliness and welcome were superb.

The friendliness and welcome were superb. We loved the history, especially the Royal Oak and the castles (we took a cab up there as it was too far to walk) but we didn't want to miss it, or the views. The countryside scenery was fabulous. On a retail side, the shops were all very interesting, too - great customer service. And special kudos to the BHF Shop - so kind, so helpful, and great products for the tourists. And thanks again to the Royal Oak for allowing all those beautiful dogs into your hotel - I will always remember that with special thoughts! My family and I would definitely recommend the Royal Oak and Welshpool to other travellers/visitors - and great for all family members - everything being close by in the town. My son and wife enjoy hiking so they cabbed up to the castle but took the long scenic hike back :-) Definitely something here for everyone, no matter what your age is!!

I know the town well, and covid and the advent of Tesco and other supermarkets are in danger of killing off the centre. At 11.30 on a Friday evening on a Bank Holiday weekend there wasn't a soul in sight . We were visiting friends in the area but I don't think I'd choose it as a base for a holiday

Great views but can be difficult to get to - would need to walk a lot. Very peaceful, quiet and private. Local village with one shop. Have to travel further to city centre for other stuff. Fresh local eggs and milk for sale.

We loved the total peace and quiet, the property is set in beautiful countryside with stunning views, yet is still close to Welshpool. Accommodation is spacious, spotlessly clean and of a particularly high standard. We arrived on a cold evening with snow on the ground but the property was lovely and warm, the host having turned the central heating on earlier in the day. Host called to check all was well shortly after we arrived and left a surprise welcome pack for us. We were very impressed and we plan to return for a further stay next summer.

The exceptional thing at this hotel was the care and attention of the staff. Otherwise as this is an old building with twisting corridors I was surprised to find such a lovely bedroom with many extras eg a radio and inside shutters on the windows to keep out traffic noise.

Good central location for touring the area, good access to Welshpool, Oswestry, Bala, Shrewsbury and the borders. Warm and comfortable base for the week. All that you need for a successful self catering break was provided at the cottage and the hosts were very kind.
