The staff were pleasant and very helpful. It was a clean enough environment and comfy. There were tea/coffee facilities in each of the rooms and a mini bar at reception where you could purchase snacks and drinks. It's right at the M1 services, so although there are no restaurant facilities within the hotel, you do have a variety of places next door such as McDonald's, Costa, Spar, etc.

Staff on the day of arrival were extremely friendly, helpful and genuinely appreciative. On morning of checkout, felt the member of staff wasn't really so passionate and came across as just doing what was expected of her role. Felt could have asked if stay was okay and/or say hope to look forward to seeing us again.

Close to an event we were attending, easy to locate. Had a bar, garden seating and a restaurant. Spotless room , nicely decorated and a shower room with a heated towel rail.
Very good choice in the restaurant on Saturday evening and at breakfast. Reception staff helpful.

We felt so welcome as Darren was so good to keep us informed & even put the subtitles on TV for us as we are deaf. The room was so cosy & comfortable.

It was a convenient stop over but the hotel was very disappointing as there was no hot water to have a shower in the morning and no one at reception to complain . When I did find someone, I was told to email. The service station had places to get food but a lot of if it was shut later in the evening when I needed it.

Located just off the motorway, small selection of shops/eateries although some close relatively early.
Large enough car park with a few disabled spots out front aswell as an electrical charge station just up from the main entrance.
Barely hear any noise from the truck stop behind the building, same for the motorway noise.

It was quiet ....... but we booked a 2 double bed room and when arrived it was a 2 single bed room paid more for a room that we didn't have . The lady on reception was not very friendly and when asked about the two double beds was told nothing she could do as the accommodation didn't have double bed rooms and that we would have to contact booking.com as nothing to do with her. So basically she passed the book and blame to someone else

Friendly staff and good location ( if you use the staff service road to come and go rather than motorway which adds loads of extra miles if staying a few days to explore the local area I.e Peak District)
Beds poor- felt and could hear the springs clunking
Nobody on Reception until check in.
Hotel generally needs a refurbishment as looking tired.
Booked room with sofa bed but they no longer provide a sofa bed just an additional bed.
No fridge if staying a few days.
Fan provided on request

if you book this hotel find out if there is to be a party that night! if so, unless you are a party animal and you like attending other people's parties don't book it! The sounds from the pub will be very loud in your room making sleep impossible.
If there is no party then I could imagine it's a nice place to stay. It is handy for Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall. The landlord is a nice bloke and helpful, He has just spent a lot of money doing the place up and has done a good job. Furthermore, it's a nice pub. Pity about the party and very loud and rather average DJ!
The lady at reception was really nice and very helpful, and so were the cleaners. The size of the room was very spacious, the beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was nice and clean. Our room was on the ground floor which was great as I have trouble going up and down stairs. Being at a services was good as there was a mcdonalds, whsmiths, cafe and some other shops, so was good for breakfast as the hotel does not do breakfast. There was a kettle and stuff for a hot drink, and a hairdryer that came in useful.
Great value for money, really handy as it next to the Services, so plently of fast food, coffees etc... My room was clean, comfortable, warm, good tv and wifi etc..... Staff are lovely. It was quiet albeit that the hotel was full (didn't notice). I rate this as my number one budget hotel (though too nice to be classed as budget) as I stay away frequently for work and I need to keep my expenses low. Bargin
We liked the size of the room, it was large and very comfortable. The hotel was clean, and quiet. Staff were pleasant and helpful and it was in a great location for dogs.
