Thornton is a handy place for a small selection of shops.

Thornton is a handy place for a small selection of shops. It is also close to the Wyre Estuary Park which is great for walks especially with a dog. Everything you need is available including public transport to take you to Blackpool, Fleetwood and other local places. The River Wyre Pub is close by and worth a visit for a good Pub meal. The newly constructed roundabout however needs practise.

Lovely house, clean and modern looking.

Lovely house, clean and modern looking. The host had left some food items which was very thoughtful and as it was before Christmas had put up a decorated tree, great personal touch. Parking was good, secure and plenty of room. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and rooms of a good size. I visited on business so didn't look for attractions but had to take a drive to see the illuminations and Blackpool tower which are close by. Morrisons supermarket is round the corner along with lots of eating out options, Wetherspoons, fish and chips and other take away available. Great place, good value and helpful friendly host.

It was a quiet neighbourhood, but the seafront is only a 10 minute drive. It is a great base to explore the North West coast including Blackpool, Lytham and Morecombe. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs.

If a large group, may need bigger property for your needs, if it is somewhere you want to sleep and go, it’s fine. If you have any mobility problems, or small children, stairs maybe a problem as very steep, due to it being an older property. No garden, just paved area, which needs cleaning regularly, plus seats if you wish to use it as a patio, plus change description, can be misleading. If you are going out and about perfect. Plenty of shops nearby, restaurant, fast foods, bus service.

Property was lovely and well equipped but only partly accessible as some wardrobes closed off, building materials stored in conservatory and garden not accessible and just a mess with ongoing building work that we were not made aware of. Property was thought to be disabled friendly but not the case as steps between rooms. Driveway not wide enough to park and let passengers out. Lovely house but more like someone's home that they are doing up and let out for the weekend.

Ideally located as its close to major roads to access lots of great places of interest. Took what seemed like no time atall to reach all major attractions in Blackpool itself and also lytham , st Anne's, cleveleys ,Fleetwood , Knott end, zoo and the beautiful Stanley park. Even the aonb that is forest of bowland can be easily reached. Bus stops within a few meters from front door and tram system 15 20min walk if you want someone else to do the driving.
