Dunivaig B&B, hotel in Tarbert

Dunivaig is a beautiful Scottish Baronial style family home situated in a quiet location with 3 rooms with stunning views overlooking the sea Loch Fyne on the mainland Kintyre peninsula in Argyll.

I was staying one night only. The room was rather unusual being of an hexagonal shape. The bed was large and very comfortable . The hosts cooked up a substantial breakfast, a monster dish of porridge along with a cooked breakfast, very good indeed.

Tarbert is a wonderful, welcoming village with great amenities and friendly local folk - it's a real community. The views over the harbour and out over the Loch are stunning. The Moorings is a wonderful B&B which I highly recommend. The Anchorage Bistro is an amazing wee restaurant which again is a must but do book to avoid disappointment Plenty of free parking in the village and the ferry to Portavadie provides an alternative option to the road journey

Tarbert is a nice place, Knap house spoilt it for us, the room and bathroom were ok, but there was no cleaning of room, no automatic cleaning of room, regardless of how long you stayed your room was only cleaned when you left. There was half a toilet roll in the bathroom which had obviously been used by someone else.

A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Great location with views of the port and walking distance to a variety of restaurants, pubs and scenic spots. The room was a little cosy but it was sufficient for our stay (and we had quite a bit of baggage). Unfortunately, we had to wake early to catch a ferry so missed breakfast but the hotel kindly put together a snack/breakfast bag for us to take in the morning. Staff were friendly and we managed to have dinner at the hotel restaurant (Seabed), the food was lovely and good portions.

We loved everything about our stay here. Our room (Arran) faced the harbour/marina and we parked just along from hotel (free). Owners Mark and Aly are a lovely, friendly, helpful couple and a great example of B & B hosts who care about their guests. Aly’s Mexican porridge has to be tried, definitely something I will try to do at home. Everything you could want for breakfast is on offer and nicely presented. This would definitely be the place we would stay if we ever go back to Tarbert.

Location. Had a view from the bedroom window (Room 1) of the lovely harbour & castle. Parking to the rear. Close to amenities and had a quiet good nights sleep. Spacious bedroom and spacious bathroom. Welcoming contact with the owner regarding keys & codes for key box. No breakfast but was ok to take food back to the accommodation. Communal room with dining table/chairs and kettle/microwave.

Breakfast was excellent. Peter makes homemade bread and great porridge and coffee. The views are fabulous of Loch Fyne and the rock and spring landscape in front of the house are spectacular and unique. Tarbert is a beautiful town, very picturesque. Enjoyed a drive down to Skipness and the old castle there. Peter and Louise were very gracious hosts.

Lovely spacious modern, clean room with fantastic views over the outer harbour. Great en suite and shower. Easy free parking on the quiet road outside. Nice 5 minute walk along the shore to the centre of Tarbert. Martyn was happy for us to arrive late at night (due to ferry) and was a great host. Overall a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

The Knap Guest House is in a great location on Tarbert Harbour. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was provided on a tray to the room which consisted of a hot roll (bacon or egg), toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. We would definitely stay here again.

I liked the location and the funky uniqueness of the property. You are definitely living on a boat with all the nuances that come along with that. Keep in mind that it is a 100-year-old barge...not the Queen Mary. My room had a fabulous shower and very comfortable bed.
