The food was very good. We were on a bed and breakfast tariff. We ate a la carte for two evenings. The service was very good and the staff very friendly. The concierge was very helpful when we left, bringing our car around to the front of the hotel so we could load our luggage.

Breakfast was well cooked with nice selection from menu. Our seating was unfortunately in the middle of the room and dining room was very large.

I loved the feeling of walking back into the past. The hotel was beautifully appointed and had a regency elegance. I especially loved the Drawing Room for a quiet read. The staff were super friendly and would go out of their way to help you. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety on offer.

Never been to Sidmouth, it is a beautiful lovely relaxed place and we loved it we will be going back soon. We were surprised how hard it was to get something to eat at 8.30 near impossible at 9.00 + I could get used to it and plan better now I know. There may be places to eat further back in the town or out of town but we couldn’t find any open late.

Lovely coastal town.
Lovely coastal town. The buildings are all decorated to a high standard and in keeping with the time period of the town. Lots of independent shops mixed with chain stores. Lovely pedestrianised places to walk freely. Doesn't look shabby or run down.

Sidmouth is a lovely seaside town.
Sidmouth is a lovely seaside town. It has a friendly & chilled atmosphere. There are plenty of independent shops to pop into and a great variety of coffee shops, chip shops, restaurants, cafes & gorgeous ice cream parlours. The beach front is well equipped (e.g. toilets & refreshments). There are gorgeous walks which lead to stunning views. Take a walk around the fabulous Connaught Gardens. Hop on a bus to Lyme, Beer etc. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the sea air & as a base to explore the surrounding area.
Lovely apartment in excellent location a couple of minutes walk from the seafront and the town centre. We have always previously stayed in hotels in Sidmouth, but this was much more convenient, especially with the guaranteed parking space and we would definitely consider staying again. The hosts were very helpful and addressed a small problem we had very quickly.
The Hut was small and compact, but had everything you need for a short break. We had never stayed in a Shepherds Hut before. The location is ideal and well situated for towns such as Beer, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and Exeter. Bicton Park is well worth the visit.
