The Norton, hotel in Seaton Carew

The Norton Self Catering Hotel Overlooking Seaton Carew Beach offers free WiFi and a large communal lounge with Sky Sports TV. Free on-site parking is also provided.

When we arrived we didn’t have the codes to gain access to the building or the room. When we eventually made contact with the off-site staff they knew nothing about our booking but gave us a very small room that smelt very musty and damp (cost £81). Room was without a bath (booking.com confirmed latter) but hotel has no en-suite bathrooms with bath.We were then contacted by a different off-site member of staff who gave us access to a better room (room 9).

The hotel was really a hostel, perfect for a one or two night stopover, comfortable and reasonable. The beach there looks nice but the area generally feels a bit rundown and views of the nuclear power station not very appealing.

My favourite place to stay, it's always so clean and the room is perfect. The view from the room is beautiful, there is plenty of fun to have at this location. I love the free pool table too. The bed is so comfortable, I go every year for my birthday. Wil be going a lot more. I'm just upset I can't take my son as it says it's not child friendly. But I would be there a lot more if this was possible. All in all my favourite place. Would highly recommend, and I'm a very picky person. So it says a lot lol!

Great location, but room 4 wasn't too good as it was at the rear of the hostel with no view. I must apologise as the hostel did send the door codes, but I didn't see them in the rather long email.

I remember coming here as a child so it brings back lots of memories. The beach is a massive sandy beach with sheltered sand dunes so always sand even at high tide and lots of loads of room as not that busy. Fish and chips are usually available and plenty of places to eat if you go into hartlepool.
