NormanHurst Hotel, hotel in Sale

Located 5 minutes from the centre of Sale, NormanHurst Hotel is a former 19th-century manor house set on prestigious Brooklands Road.

The room was clean and tidy but very basic, it was ok for a one night stay over but we wouldn’t like to have stayed for a short break holiday, the greeting at reception was quite shallow, showed to our room and he pointed that’s your room down there , no information given at all .We had booked because I had a hospital appt, and we had a fair distance to travel for this , for an overnight stay it’s ok .

    Breakfast was very acceptable.

Breakfast was very acceptable. Rooms were adequate but decor rather dated and in need of upgrade to create a more modern/inviting appearance. Stayed here last year for a hockey tournament at Timperley and good enough to come back. Will come back next year.

I only stayed one night to visit Old Trafford.

I only stayed one night to visit Old Trafford. Upon my visit we were extremely welcomed by very friendly hosts. I couldn’t fault the visit, room and amenities was very clean, comfortable, and minimal noise. There is a bar downstairs and overall such a nice atmosphere to drink in. We opted for an English breakfast and it was reasonable for the price and tasty. I did notice a 5* food and health rating. I would definitely book here again if I were to come back to Sale.

Deafening music from function room ruined our stay.

Deafening music from function room ruined our stay. Numerous stairs between entrance/bar/restaurant and rooms. Large room. Comfy bed. Very large bathroom with separate bath and shower. (Room3). No place in shower for toiletries. Bath does not have grab bars. Toilet roll sits on shelf behind toilet- so not in reach.

Excellent walk along the canal path from the accomodation to Sale, takes about ten minutes and here you can find areasonable range of shops and services along with a good selection of cafes and restaurants, Sale is not a place to spend the whole day but is worth having a few hours there before continuing the walk along the canal to Trafford Water Park.

Easy to find, good off-road parking. friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room. an excellent home-cooked evening meal with sensible prices on both food and bar. This was a one-night stopover before flying out from Manchester the following day, and was as comfortable as any of the airport hotels (who also charge for parking!) at around 50% cheaper. With another holiday planned for November it’s safe to say we will be back. It’s also worth noting that locals use the restaurant as well, which is always a good sign.

We checked in around 5am due to flying into Manchester Airport and a delayed flight. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Our key was left in the safe, and we were provided with straight forward, easy instructions. The room was lovely, had everything we needed, was slightly dated but we didn’t mind at all! There were some lovely touches, including biscuits, and bottles of water. The check out time was reasonable too and all for just £40, you really can’t go wrong. We would definitely return again!

Room nicely decorated and clean. Staff were friendly and seemed to want to be helpful and after some confusion about how my friend and I were going to pay the bill the manager gave us a discount on the breakfast which was a good gesture. The location is very close to some good restaurants in the centre of Sale and is very conveniently situated for the tram to Central Manchester or in our case Old Trafford Cricket Ground

I got a free update which was lovely and the man on reception was really nice. My new was big, l had free internet access and parking which is great! The bathroom was nice and clean and l could smell bleach in the hallway. l had the fire escape door in my room, which was great as l could open it and get some fresh air in. Overall, it’s really cheap so you can’t complain. A few nights stay would be better than 6 nights!

The hotel is dated and could do with decorative touch ups but is clean, tidy. The bathroom is nice and there is a fridge and a microwave in the room. Beds are clean and comfortable-always a plus. Very welcoming receptionist who was informative on the area and showed us to our room. In an excellent location for where we needed to be and in a lovely area of sale.

I was visiting Manchester to see friends and this was really close by and convenient. The place was warm and spacious with a very comfortable bed. Hosts were really welcoming and helpful. The key safes were easy to operate; I was out for the evening and could easily let myself in on my return. Overall, excellent value.

Bed was good, location reasonably peaceful. Just met one person involved in running the hotel, who was fine. Room was reasonably clean, if a bit cramped.; rug trapped half under the bed and creeping up the wall....?
