It's an impossibly beautiful place perched on the side of the estuary. Like many desirable coastal destinations there is a beautiful old fishing village, which is sometimes difficult to see beneath the Multi million pound houses and holiday residences which dominate the narrow lines leading down to the harbour and the shops selling posh sailing togs to landlubbers that will never wear them again given they live in-land!
It's a bit like an English version of Positano. Or am I reaching here?
It is nonetheless beautiful with plenty of things to do on and around the water there are marvellous hotels and holiday rentals and it's a great base from which to explore the other towns along the coast.

A beautiful place to hang out, with a real buzz about it.
A beautiful place to hang out, with a real buzz about it. So much action in the water with people to’ing and fro’ing across and up and down the estuary on boats and SUP’s. Some great beaches within walking or ferry distance and a load of great self-catering places to stay, as well as hotels. A good choice of restaurants and pubs spotted around, many with fantastic views of the estuary and some nice independent shops and distilleries.

Cornwall council need to improve the roads.
Cornwall council need to improve the roads. We are not in 1904. This is a major UK destination and it needs a footpath to keep people safe and bays where people can pull in on the extremely narrow roads. Parking is a nightmare.. the council could do a park and ride scheme.
The shops are good with little boutique finds, welcoming and happy staff, Clean beaches and lovely busy atmosphere. The hotels are expensive but this reflects its a very nice destination.

A beautiful town. Extremely welcoming.
A beautiful town. Extremely welcoming. The shops were great with some wonderful local shops such as the Salcombe candle company, Salcombe Dairy chocolate and the wonderful Salcombe Gin! Whilst there we took part in Gin School to make our sun gin which was fantastic.
There are some great pubs serving delicious food too. We tried the Ferry Inn and had a lovely time. They gave a quiz on Thursday evenings which is great fun too!
Parking looked to be difficult, as with most small towns, we were lucky enough to have parking at the hotel. So I would recommend getting there early.
This was our first trip to Salcombe, we fell in love with it and can’t wait to go back.

The views amazing
Very relaxing place … nice vibe .
Beds really comfortable
Spa and massage very good
Breakfast good selection , although the portions varied daily .
Evening meal more choice for vegetarian
Might be nice to have a couple specials available
Mid morning coffee would be lovely to be offered a biscuit with it.
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating .
Would have liked the rooms cleaned earlier as it was 3pm and had to ask as my 91 year old mum liked to sit in her room in the afternoon.
Overall a great stay
Thank you .

We know Salcombe very well and have been going there for over 30 years. It's a great location to stay offering good facilities and access to beach/boating
opportunities. Day visits are possibly more problematic due to limited parking.
The lodge is beautifully decorated throughout. Everything was of high quality and so well equipped. We stayed in most evenings as it is a really relaxing place. It is in a lovely location just a short walk to Soar Mill Cove which is dog friendly with added bonus of Soar Mill Cove Hotel as a resting place on way back for drink.
lovely location, was easy to reach salcombe on the ferry. staff all friendly. Room was comfortable. Evening dinner was very tasty the Hot shellfish dish was delicious, so was breakfast. The hotel was very dog friendly, our 2 dogs enjoyed their stay.
