Lovely location nice and peaceful everything you need for a relaxing night away
Conveniently located just of the A55, this family-run manor house is set within the peace and tranquillity of the rural surroundings of Abergele, North Wales.
Situated in Bodelwyddan, 1.1 km from Bodelwyddan Castle, Faenol Fawr Country Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.
This family hotel/public house features a well-stocked bar, a sunny beer garden with ample seating and an off-road private car park at the front and to the rear of the building.
The main house is lovely.
We stayed in the annexe, which isn't as cosy, but the facilities worked just right. The restaurant and pub are just beautiful and feel welcoming and cosy. And all staff were very friendly.
Great if you have a car and need parking, as it has a big outside space. Very close to a major road which is great for access but not too close that you hear the noise from the motorway.

The Cathedral is worth visiting; there is a river walk with parking close by. The High St is narrow for traffic, so walking is a good option, about 10 minutes from the hotel. Two ancient castles (Rhuddlan and Denbigh) are each approximately 5 miles away, and the nearest coastline at Rhyl is approximately 9 miles.

Stay if one night en route to an appointment.
For a 4 star accommodation this place does NOT fit the bill.
On arrival staff attitude unfriendly and unhelpful. We we're NOT ADVISED when we booked that breakfast had to be booked, even though it was included.
All bathrooms dirty. Was offered other room but bathrooms in same state as other.
Another staff member, very friendly and helpful person, tried to clean the mould but unfortunately to no avail.
Shower rose appeared to have rust marks on it.
Bathrooms are in SERIOUS NEED of cleaning, regrouping and sealing.
It was too late to find alternative accommodation otherwise we would have stayed somewhere else.
Tea cups at breakfast were dirty with tea stains and rings in them. Needless to say we didn't have tea.
We thought we were coming to 4 star accommodation with a spa and pool. We were not offered or told what was open. We also decided not to bother due to the dirt in the bathrooms.
One would expect places to be EXTRA CLEAN due to covid regulations nevermind a supposed 4 Star hotel..

After staying at our lovely hotel we walked into St Asaph and the Cathedral is just beautiful. We travelled to Anglesey and it is stunning. Next time we want to take the Snowdonia railway. It was fully booked. So hopefully next time we will be lucky.

Lovely cathedral, gorgeous views, lovely and friendly people. We stayed in St Asaph to walk Moel Famau and take in the history of the city. We absolutely loved it, the cathedral is beautiful and peaceful , we enjoyed reading about the translation of the Bible to Welsh and seeing the monument. We bought some lovely pottery from Wendy in Earthworks Pottery and had a lovely chat and best carrot cake from Jacobs Ladder.

We went to St. Winifred's well.
We went to St. Winifred's well. Very good and well worth the visit. Tour guide was very informative, had a lovely lunch in the café, enjoyed it. Also went to Pantasaph monastery, well worth the visit, lovely gardens and café and went to mass in the church.
The room was an absolute haven, I was staying with my Dad in hospital and the hotel was less than 5 minutes drive from him. Honestly it was so comfortable and exactly what I needed to be able to recharge to be with him each day. The staff were wonderful and friendly and the food was good when I did have a meal in the restaurant. The room was much larger than I expected for the price- I booked a family room so my husband and son could join me at the weekend. Incredible value for money and I will definitely be staying again.
On arriving we was met by Elaine & Peter,, lovely Warm welcome,, We was showed to our room, which was the cottage suite,, and all i can say is WOW,, Gorgeous clean and well presented,, Very spacious and lovely clean crisp bedding,, the bathroom spotless and the bed was extremley comfortable. The views of surrounding very stunning,, The breakfast was also amazing :) We will definatley be returning in the near future... Thankyou both for a lovely stay. From Helen & Craig the Wiganers :)
The staff were fantastic. Kara the staff on reception and the bar and restaurant couldn't do enough for us. Always smiling and so professional. Katy the waitress was so happy and engaging with our group they both are an asset to the hotel. The room was pleasant and clean.
The whole stay was amazing, all the staff (hotel, restaurant and bar) were very friendly and welcoming, happy to help with anything, nothing was a problem. We will definitely visit the Talardy again when we come to visit with our Welsh family
Staff friendly and welcoming. Pub/restaurant had good food and reasonable prices. Breakfast, while simple, was delicious and convenient. Location is easy on and off to main roads and near a lot of interesting regional attractions.
Lovely location about 2 miles from St Asaph. Large garden which the kids loved, with stunning views over the countryside. Very quiet and peaceful. Plenty of room for our group of 10 with a well equipped kitchen.
Breakfast was good, staff were very friendly and we were happy with how the hotel had dealt with COVID restrictions in regards to the use of the facilities, booking slots, sanitizers around the hotel etc
Large room but hotel a bit run down. Nice food and friendly staff. Takes dogs but excessive charge. Clean reception and restaurant but rest of hotel and room less so. Needs a refurbishment.
Ideally located for visiting St Asaph, Tweedmill Shopping Outlet ( just down the road ), and surrounding North Wales area generally. Nice restaurant and good selection for breakfast.
