This majestic Victorian manor sits on Ryde seafront overlooking the marina. It features bright, elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi and hearty, traditional cuisine in its restaurant.

It was a perfect and quaint old seaside hotel. We had a wonderful room with views of the sea. Plenty of parking and a great location. The staff were all lovely and very friendly, especially Chloe the receptionist. The cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious and exactly what we needed.

The hotel was good budget accommodation and although the exterior was a little tired, and the climb up to the room a little narrow and winding, the room and ensuite were fine.

I went to Ryde, partly because there's a bus direct from East Cowes and the ferry - I don't take the car - and partly to see more of it. I'm not a beach lover but Ryde beach is good for those that are, and in season there's the pleasure pool etc for kids at the east end of the town. Buses go regularly to Newport, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and Bembridge, and the Island Line Railway also goes to Shanklin, And up and down the pier. There are the hovercraft to / from Southsea, the bus / tram museum and shops to potter in. Eating places - Castle Hotel is good - and wonderful ice cream

We were on the island to visit various places so the location did not really matter as we had the car, however having now travelled all around next time we would choose a location with more of a little town environment. There was very little in Ryde.

Ryde buildings and look is tired and needs some refreshing, the train service is, at best, erratic with many cancellations which is annoying if you need to get to Smallbrook Junction. They say you can use the train ticket for the bus but the bus does not go there! However the bus service is good and reliable. The Alamo steak house is very good, excellent steaks cooked as requested.

Our hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home. We were delighted with the local area information that was given to us, it really helped us plan our time on the Isle of Wight. Breakfasts are continental style with delicious fresh fruit salads. We were well catered for. The house is situated in a private & secluded area with fabulous gardens to access. It is easily accessed by bus or a 20 min walk into Ryde. We used local buses to travel around the Island & found these to be frequent, reliable and affordable.

The apartment is in a quiet residential area, so we all slept well. Views from the apartment are amazing. We loved watching the ships on the Solent. Location was really good, close walk to beach and shops etc. The local beaches were lovely. Not overcrowded and safe for kids to play on. Ryde itself is ok, not to dissimilar to most UK towns but has the bonus of being by the sea. Some great places to eat i.e Ada Mediterranean Kitchen and Michaelangelo Italian Restaurant. Would avoid the Pavilion and The Ryde Castle Pub.

Our second stay with Great Hosts . Beautifully decorated and clean and fresh. We were lucky to have lovely weather too, and the sea view from the balcony was a bonus . Everything we needed and a delicious fresh cake baked for our arrival and lots of extras we weren't expecting. The bed was so comfy. The location again was great. All local amenities and close to shops bars and restaurants. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the castle hotel. Would highly recommend. And will definitely be returning ourselves!

This was a beautiful and well-decorated property. It's located in a quiet residential street but is just a few minutes walk away from shops, pubs, restaurants and beaches of the centre of Ryde. The photos on the website didn't really do it justice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. There is a conservatory and a small garden with seating area, which was well-used during the fine weather during our stay. We had a lovely time and would be very happy to return.

clean rooms the only thing let us down was booking.com not passing the correct information onto the hotel I changed my booking soon after I book hotel to a Superior Double Room which wasn’t passed onto Ryde Castle but amount to pay had been charged. I paid for a superior room which I didn’t get. Hotel have refunded me some money but I had to complain to hotel because the room I got wasn’t what I paid for. I have used booking.com for long time this was booking .com’s fault not the hotel

I stayed in Room 9. A good size family room. I did not have breakfast. The location was very good for FastCat and Hovercraft. Close to the beach although half way up the high street a little steep but not an issue. Good location for railway and buses. Great beach at Ryde. The hotel is a pub but no noise in my room. Clean and the staff helpful when I arrived. Coffee/tea available in the room

There wasn't a breakfast as such but food could be bought at times from the bar. There was a kitchen & dining area within the building if you wished to take in your own food to heat & prepare it, with a cupboard allocated to each room containing your own utensils, along with a fridge to store any fodstuffs.

A great little apartment in the center of Ryde. Great for exploring the Island and a nice peaceful location. Good facilities and the apartment had everything you could need. Kerrie was a great host and it was nice to know she was only on the phone if there were any issues - but we had none!

Staff so helpful, I arrived early and they were able to check me in. This hotel is a little oasis of calm - beautiful grounds and one of the best spas I have ever used in a hotel. The lavender sauna cannot be missed! I only stayed one night but it felt like a real break.
