staff were brilliant, very friendly, very pleasant, very helpful. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. There was a good selection of teas in the room if you are partial to having a cuppa in the bedroom. Didn't have dinner there so can't comment on it. A reasonable selection of cereals, mini croissants, pain au-chocolat and fruit juices for breakfast. The hotel is conveniently close to the A66 but on a little side road, you can hear the traffic if you are stood outside the hotel, once you are in the hotel you can't hear it at all. You are only a 10 minute drive away from the Bowes Museum, definitely worth a visit, and Barnard Castle.

The staff were amazing, we were treated like VIPs on arrival, and tended to our every need whilst we enjoyed our wedding taster meals and cocktails.
We were also upgraded to a suite once it was time to check in! Could not fault the facilities or the staff!

What an absolutely beautiful place with gorgeous cottages.
There was 12 of us staying the night before a wedding and each of the 3 cottages we stayed in were superb.
