This small family-owned and run country hotel in North Suffolk was once a rural public house; today, it has been sympathetically renovated and still retains its historic charm and character.

Very good room - plenty of space and well appointed. The food in the Bull restaurant was really excellent with a great selection of wines. Jake and the rest of the team are doing an excellent job at The Auberge. Will be very happy to stay again.

Toilet was extremely squashed and was really low to the floor, awkward and uncomfortable. No flat surfaces to place items like a wash bag, nor hooks to hang clothes whilst using the facilities. More vegetables and fruit of a wider range bed to be available for all meals. Greater fish options and possibility of ordering from different menu. Maybe cut down number of menus and use chalk board for dailies.
The Bell Inn was a lovely little hotel. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed with very adequate amenities provided. Ample car parking space.
The staff were very helpful.
We ate in the restaurant in the evening, a very nicely prepared meal at a very reasonable price, and breakfasted at the hotel before leaving for home.
We would unreservedly recommend The Bell Inn.
The purpose of our visit was to visit The Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens. The hotel is a short drive to the attraction.
Small Village, Lovely Setting and Pub Garden for drinks. Room were well decorated and cozy vibes. After a shocking hygiene issue with the room where bedbugs were found, manager acted quickly to refund our stay, set us up in a new hotel as unable to locate room for 2 guests and feeling too uncomfortable/disgusted to stay another night. Glad they were understanding.
We arrived at hotel to be informed at 6pm they where closing as they had a staff issue, so there would be no food served, we where told there was a fish and chip shop along the road which was closed when we got there, there was another pub but they had no food so we went back to hotel, the front door was open !! security not good.
Despite needing to check out early due to illness, this was a fantastic little pub and hotel and I would definitely consider staying there again on a future holiday to that part of the UK. It was a much improved experience on the other hotels we stayed in during our two weeks in the Southern parts of England.
A public house in a beautiful village that was dog friendly with great food and drink. Staff are lovely and made the stay so comfortable with a dog in a pub. We were perfectly placed to go walking on a choice of circular walks around Rickinghall and Botesdale exploring the historic villages.
The Bell Inn staff are really helpful and friendly. The food is very good pub fare and the specials are worth trying. breakfast is very good as well. Special mention for Jo in the bar and Bev at breakfast. Stayed in the Bumble Bee Room and would stay again when visiting Rickinghall.
Lovely hotel upgraded to more contemporary decoration but keeping its charm with themed rooms. Very helpful and inviting staff. Beautifully food cooked and presented to a very high standard.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our dog (Maisie) was also welcomed…this truly is a dog friendly pub/hotel. The food was also good value and delicious!
