The Radnorshire Arms Hotel, hotel in Presteigne

Located in Presteigne, 45 km from Elan Valley, The Radnorshire Arms Hotel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

It’s a character property in the middle of the town - the room was okay and the bed comfy. The staff were friendly and Martin went above and beyond by driving us back to rejoin the Offas Dyke path which was an amazing gesture when we checked out. Plenty of hot water

A small town in beautiful countryside with plenty to do locally even if you do not walk a great deal. Good places to eat in the town itself and interesting places to visit locally like the Sidney Nolan Trust and Spaceguard centre. There are many churches inn Herefordshire and Powys that are open and interesting to visit. We enjoyed a church crawl! Hereford Town is also within reach.

Lovely small town with lots of small shops, great character and friendly locals. The Radnorshire Arms provided great family accommodation, a tasty filling meal, and a great beer garden/play area. Wonderfully dog friendly garden too. A lovely part of the world :)

Good range of shops and places to eat, etc. for small town.

Good range of shops and places to eat, etc. for small town. Good historic buildings including The Judge's Lodgings, which are open to the public and worth a visit. Good music classical festival each year in late August. Lots of places and good walks in the surrounding area. Great to be able to quickly get away from traffic noise, which seems to be everywhere nowadays.

As I was short of time, I wasn't able to explore the town, although as I wanted some chocolates or flowers to take to the family I was having dinner with, I did go into a couple of shops where the staff were helpful and friendly. The little gift and flower shop was lovely, as was the lady serving, it had a variety of beautiful gifts and a little cafe which I would certainly visit whenever I return to Presteigne and hopefully have more time.

Great shops for self-catering - butcher, a greengrocers (also sells fish for part of the week), 2 general food stores and a well-stocked deli, also a bakers. It has a number of decent pubs for such a small place and a lovely Italian restaurant, plus takeaways. There are also a number of cafes and gift shops. The locals were all very friendly. There is an information centre in town and a small museum/art gallery. It is in the middle of very pretty countryside - rolling hills, trees and sheep! Great for access to Wales and to Shropshire and Herefordshire.

This is a good base to explore the beautiful countryside in this area. It`s a small town with some interesting traditional shops. The Judge`s Lodgings museum is excellent and well worth a visit, as is the Warden nature site.

We were made very welcome by the friendly staff. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well appointed. Car parking was ample, and free for the guests. There was a large play area for children. The breakfast was sumptuous, with a choice of breads, juices, fresh fruit, tea / coffee. The hotel has a decently stocked bar where one could also enjoy a meal, along with drinks. All in all, it was a refreshing stay, although we just stayed for 1 night as we were visiting the Hay Festival nearby. A longer stay is recommended.

The hotel is a beautiful old building in the centre of Presteign. Comfortable and in keeping with its age. Rooms very clean and relaxing to be in with a nice lounge overlooking the garden. Very friendly and attentive staff . Helpful finding a place for our bikes and allowing us to put our wet cycling clothes outside to dry . Decent bar . We didn't have the food there but found a nice place to eat called Crockett's. Lots of breakfast - continental style . Filling for cycling touring . Very nice place to stay .

A lovely well equipped character cottage in a very quiet and secluded location with fabulous views from the garden. A central location to so many historic towns in both England and Wales. The local town of Presteigne is a 2 minute drive which had lots of eating possibilities, especially for lunch. We arrived late so had to use the key safe but Sue dropped by the next day to make sure that we had everything that we needed.

Lovely little terraced cottage in the centre of Presteigne close to cafes and pubs, including the excellent Radnorshire Arms Hotel. It is an older house with a downstairs bathroom, but that is well worth it to have two cozy bedrooms upstairs. Really nice stay - thank you.

Great location; within walking distance to Presteigne shops and pubs. Accommodation was in a quiet area. We loved the local walks and general area. We thought the Owl and Small Breeds Farm was good value as there was so much to see.
