Food was good. Cant say excellent as felt scallops slightly over cooked. Staff at reception excellent. Female bar tender on arrival excellent friendly helpful. As was the local lady that served breakfast.

Lovely hotel in lovely location. Staff always friendly and helpful. We love that we can eat in the room if we want to. We have stayed a couple of times before on special deals as it's a little pricey, but prices have gone up everywhere.
Set in Mevagissey, near Little Polstreath Beach, Polkirt Beach and Polstreath Beach, The Wheel House has a bar. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available.

Fabulous location with wonderful view of the harbour and beyond.
Cosy and compact room, made good use of limited space. Great for a single night, but longer could be tricky as no room for bags and no communal space.
The parking option is invaluable, and just a quick walk to the hotel past lots of interesting shops and bars. Would suggest you don't even try to drive to the harbour front!
It's a quirky and ancient building. But getting up to the room could be a problem if you're not nimble.
Right in the middle of the action, with boats coming and going and seagull serenades from first light.
Set in Mevagissey and only 1.3 km from Little Polstreath Beach, Kerryanna Country House Bed and Breakfast offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking.

This beautiful quaint cottage was perfect for what we wanted, our room had a lovely en-suite and had everything we needed - it was very comfortable and homely. Chris was an exceptional host, and made us feel so at home, his breakfast was fantastic - the pancakes are a must try but the local sausages were also delicious! It was such a pleasure to stay here and we wish we could have stayed for longer!
Thank you so much for making this trip so special!

Very narrow roads which makes for exciting driving, especially as there is a regular bus service.
Beautiful small harbour with two fishing boats regularly coming and going. Rocky all round which made a dramatic feature in strong winds. Very quiet. Mostly well maintained houses, mostly painted white which made the place quaint.

Fine for the walker, short or long- haul hiker, wild flower enthusiast and taking in dramatic coastal views. Boat hire might be possible as we saw families go out on both days of our stay but don't know from whom or cost. Fine for four legged companions as well on cliff top walks. However be prepared for a village with one other watering hole - The Ship Inn. Excellent pub grub at reasonable prices which we visited twice. The Lugger our hotel for two days needs to hike it's act. There are some very interesting places outside Portloe but need four wheels.

This is a delightful village by the coast.
This is a delightful village by the coast. It has a charming hotel, The Lugger, and an excellent old pub, The Ship Inn. Narrow roads wind down to the coast and it can be accessed via a local bus. There is a wonderful bus stop, with a covered seating area, on the hillside to the east of Portloe.
The nearest shop is in Veryan and it appears to sell everything that one could want on holiday!

Lovely, cute, quiet fishing town away from the main tourist locations but close enough to get to them. Lovely walks on the south west coast path from the village. The Ship Inn pub is not the best but the Lugger hotel is incredible.

We loved the coastal walks at Portloe and enjoyed visiting Heligan, Eden Project and the Minack Theatre. We ate in the Coastal towns we were visiting each day. We found the roads narrow and had to be very careful when driving to our destinations.

Portloe is a wonderful historic fishing village.
Portloe is a wonderful historic fishing village. There are wonderful walks along the South West Costal path leading from each side of town. A bus to Truro or St Maws runs regularly, daily from opposite the church. The Ship Inn Hotel has excellent meals and very friendly atmosphere.
The Lugger is in a wonderful location, right on the sea, with fabulous views from the restaurant and terrace, and immediate access to the coast path so you feel you do not need your car if you want to go walking. The food on the second night was very good, especially the mackerel. The hotel was a great place to take a dog, with external access to rooms from the car park to avoid traipsing her through the halls each time I took her out. Again, that second night also had some wonderful waiting staff who were quietly attentive and considerate.
The big plus of this hotel is the setting in the wonderfully quiet village of Portloe: Idyllic and perfect sea view from our room. The food at breakfast and dinner was also utterly delicious. The menu was different on both nights. The room was perfect in size and amenities: very large and extremely comfortable bed, lush bathrobe, White Company bathroom toiletries, fresh fruit and cookies offered in the room every day, etc... Wonderful touches.
From the moment we arrived from our 5 hour journey we were treated with kindness, respect and generosity. The hotel is such a gem! The food is outstanding. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, we particularly enjoyed the variety of teas and Cornish mineral water, and fruit for our walks. What made this such a memorable stay was the staff who were friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome.
The staff in this hotel are the most friendly and welcoming staff I have encountered for a very long time. We received the warmest welcome and it was clear that nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely recommend the hotel for a few relaxing days away.
Location is stunning, so quiet and peaceful and wonderful for a short stay. The hotel is small, very friendly, relaxed and homely. Food was lovely with lots of local choices and variety. Our room,202, had the most amazing view of the tiny inlet/harbour
Amazing location, literally overlooking the tiny harbour and slipway at Portloe. Fab open fire with a couple of comfy sofas to chill out on a winter's night plus the benefit of a smart tv. A well equipped kitchen was also much appreciated.
Great hotel to enjoy the coastal paths and seascape. The service at the hotel is outstanding and meals superb. We were there to relax and soak up the scenery. We loved sitting on the terrace and watching the port activity.
Amazing hotel, very well kept, all staff and guests so friendly and polite. We felt so relaxed on our stay there was no rush. The view from our room straight onto the sea was lovely. Can’t recommend enough.
What a great little hotel right at the waters edge! We had a room with a terrace and sea view - highly recommend getting one of these. Beautifully renovated -everything looked very new.
The cottage was very comfortable with beautiful views of the harbour .The restaurant provided a good choice of menus with excellent service .it’s a hotel we would return to .
