Inn For All Seasons, hotel in Porthtowan

Featuring a terrace, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, Inn For All Seasons is set in Redruth, 26 km from Newquay Train Station and 26 km from St Michael's Mount.

I needed a one night stay, on a longer journey. Inn for all seasons was easy to find and in a good location for onward travel and exploring the local area Room was clean, and the bed comfortable. Shower hot! Double glazed windows so very quiet. Although the road outside wasn’t busy. Locally made tea in the rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Check in was by 9pm, I was going to be later, due to traffic, so phoned ahead and was reassured someone would still be there to check me in so not to worry.

Tyacks Hotel, hotel in Porthtowan

Situated just off the A30 in Camborne, the 3-star Tyacks Hotel is a charming 18th-century coaching inn in the centre of Cornwall’s mining heritage area. It offers home-cooked meals and friendly staff....

It was an absolute delight coming to Camborne after many years and I managed to see a a couple of members of family who I hadn’t seen for a long time it was an emotional time. When we came to Tyacks I felt extremely welcomed and safe. The waiting area has such a lovely vibe. When we got to our room, we was impressed by how spacious it was. It was lovely to be greeted with a beautiful beer garden that has been kept to a beautiful standard. The staff are so kind, professional and very friendly. On the first night we had dinner at the restaurant in Tyacks and the food was very luxurious indeed. In the morning we came down to breakfast and we was welcomed by a very beautiful soul. Her name is Jenny. Her kindness and support really does radiate she is a wonderful asset to have there. As it was 20 years since my dad passed away, I was unwell on Wednesday night so when I came down on Thursday, Jenny was so comforting and loving. I really do appreciate that. The breakfast menu was absolutely lovely. It was lovely to see that there were traditional Cornish breakfast is there. It was lovely to have a range of cold and hot breakfast. I really appreciate how Nina was with me as when I was poorly in the night she was helpful. Nina is a very down to earth lady and it was an honour to meet her as well. She is so kind and friendly all the staff are. I want to also thank you for the inclusivity. I really struggle with social anxiety and also being transgender it’s difficult to get out and about and I felt so safe. I really appreciate this. I hope to come and visit soon and I do plan on moving down to Cornwall. I miss you all very much, and even though I didn’t know you for long I felt like you were also family. Thank you for also welcoming my uncle Robin who I haven’t seen for 20 years. I think he does come to Tyacks time to time. It has been a beautiful stay and I could write lots more. Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and warmth. I will see you soon much love to you all.TY

Fond memories of holidaying in Porthtowan throughout the 70s and 80s with our parents. It really hasn't changed that much and I'd highly recommend Porthtowan for the most wonderful holiday. Beautiful beach with a hidden rock pool, great for surfing and sunbathing. Great amenities with a great beach shop, ice cream parlour, cafe, beach bar, two pubs serving great food, chippy and village store. Also a great base for exploring local resorts too.

Beautiful beach with a few shops.

Beautiful beach with a few shops. Perfect for sunsets. 2 great bars with food and all the staff we had the pleasure of speaking with were so friendly. Great parking at the beach. Good roads to take you other places such as Falmouth and St. Ives. with incredible views if you take the smaller roads. Restrictions on dogs on the beach meaning happy time for everyone! Lovely cliff top walk across to Chapel Porth passing Great Wheal Charlotte en route with a nice cafe and lovely ice cream! It could be said, that it's a steep walk back up to the holiday home depending on your health.

Childhood holiday memories of a wonderful place. Porthtowan did not disappoint 30 odd years later. We ate out twice at the Victory Inn, highly recommended. We drove to St Agnes and Perranporth and enjoyed reminiscing on Porthtowan beach.

The beaches at Porthtowan, Portreath and Gwithian were easy to get to and park. Good places to eat was the Victory Inn at Towan Cross, Bassett Arms at Portreath, and Trevaskis Farm, Connor Downs. Heartlands is worth a visit, great surf lessons at Gwithian surf academy.
