Falcon's Nest Hotel, hotel in Port Erin

Situated in Port Erin, 200 metres from Port Erin Beach, Falcon's Nest Hotel features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

We stayed in self-catering apartments - with a lift. (Main hotel didn't have a lift and my wife has mobility issues.) A little more expensive, but worth it. Also liked the hotel restaurant.

We arrived in Port Erin on a Sunday afternoon on a brilliantly sunny day. The town in pretty enough but we found it hard to find somewhere to eat that evening as most of the pubs and restaurants stopped their food service during the afternoon. After much googling, we found the http://breagleglen.com/ an indian restaurant at the local bowls club open and serving food. The food was pretty good.

The town of Port Erin is situated around a beautiful coastline, and the bay itself is stunning. The local people are very friendly and helpful. Transport to-and-from the town is excellent, there being regular buses to most parts of the island, and the train service is efficient and quaint. Shopping was not so good during our stay (late April 2024) as there was only a small Co-op supermarket, with limited stock, and an even smaller Spar with the same limited goods. However, Tesco were in the process of developing a large store in the centre of the town (not sure of opening date). Note, the pubs are good with nice meals served.

It is a beautiful little village but everything you need is within walking distance. A Post Office, Chemist, 2 good gift shops, several cafe's, a really good fish and chip shop, and a several outlets that sold Davisons ice cream. Proper pubs and bars. Not to mention the train station which is lovingly maintained and straight out of an Enid Blyton novel. Very easy to get round as it's mostly on the flat except for when you drop down on the beach. It is also well serviced with buses as well. It has some very interesting local history as well which the Falcon's Nest is directly involved in.

Lovely breakfast, rooms spotless, and lovely hosts. We chose the Guest House - since it was within 5 mins of walking distance to the Isle of Man Steam Railway in Port Erin. The railway was celebrating its 150th anniversary - so we were over for this special event. Port Erin is lovely, quieter, and feels more peaceful. Though the whole is quite laid back and friendly.

The house is stunning, freshly painted with new carpets and everything could need for a relaxing break. The location is perfect facing Port Erin beach. We didn’t need to use the garage linked to the house, parked on the road outside.
