A very comfortable apartment right in the middle of Castletown. Parking just behind was great. View of the castle was lovely and shops were right on the doorstep.

It was a surprise once you walked in as it looked just average from the outside. It was very well situated for buses and the town centre. And the staff were amazing: friendly, helpful and efficient.

The town of Port Erin is situated around a beautiful coastline, and the bay itself is stunning. The local people are very friendly and helpful. Transport to-and-from the town is excellent, there being regular buses to most parts of the island, and the train service is efficient and quaint.
Shopping was not so good during our stay (late April 2024) as there was only a small Co-op supermarket, with limited stock, and an even smaller Spar with the same limited goods. However, Tesco were in the process of developing a large store in the centre of the town (not sure of opening date). Note, the pubs are good with nice meals served.

It is a beautiful little village but everything you need is within walking distance. A Post Office, Chemist, 2 good gift shops, several cafe's, a really good fish and chip shop, and a several outlets that sold Davisons ice cream. Proper pubs and bars. Not to mention the train station which is lovingly maintained and straight out of an Enid Blyton novel. Very easy to get round as it's mostly on the flat except for when you drop down on the beach. It is also well serviced with buses as well. It has some very interesting local history as well which the Falcon's Nest is directly involved in.

Port Erin is one of the most scenic areas of the island...
Port Erin is one of the most scenic areas of the island especially if you get a good sunset. Plenty of walks, great beach and local cafes/pubs. Great place as a base to explore the rest of the island too.
This hotel has a lovely atmosphere (which is why this was my third visit) and it was great to see that this is just as strong despite the challenges of COVID. Much of that is down to the warm and friendly staff who go out of their way to help and make you feel really welcome! The location is hard to beat and facilities in Port Erin are better than you might expect for a small place. Great bus and steam railway links from just outside the hotel to Douglas and the rest of the island.
Very good location, close to shops, beach and railway station. The restaurant food was excellent and good value for money and the included breakfast was also very good. The room was very clean and comfortable with Wi-Fi, flat screen tv and tea/coffee making facilities, although like the rest of the hotel (and seemingly the rest of the island) it was a little dated. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, as were almost all the islanders we met.
We were not told that the hotel was being renovated, the front bar conservatory was shut there was scaffolding all around the hotel. The best part of the hotel for us is sitting in the conservatory, if we would have known it was shut we would not have chosen to stay here. Also the bathroom did not have a curtain and was only slightly frosted, they are probably going to have curtains 😳 when they do the finishing touches.
Our room had a lovely view over Port Erin and across the bay to Bradda Head. The Athol Park guest house is in a quiet location, but is also very close to facilities in the town and is also handy for the Steam Railway. The hosts are very welcoming, and an excellent breakfast was provided.
The location is great and the breakfast was fantastic., and the staff helpful and friendly. I enjoyed seeing that the hotel had been remodeled/refurbished since my last stay there. The new carpeting and reception area was lovely.
The location was excellent, a short walk from town, bus terminus, train station.
The accommodation was spotlessly clean.
The proprietor was prepared to be flexible over such things as deviating slightly from the breakfast menu.
Apartment was beautiful and much bigger than pictures on site. Loved the comfortable bed and the views from the windows, over Port Erin. The building had character and was modernised throughout.
Staff were exceptional. Friendly and helpful. The owner was also a lovely man explaining how the renovations were being done and the upgrading of the hotel.
