Excellent location. Good parking available. Great value for money.
Our room was large, clean, modern and comfortable.
Rate included breakfast which was cooked to order, generous portions and again unable to fault.

Facilities matched the standard of Premier Inn and it was obvious that the property had been refurbished, at no expense spared to a level demanded by the most discerning traveller. Full marks for effort.

Beautiful town with a lot of history embedded. Places one needs to visit include Penrith Castle, Brougham Castle, Long Meg and Daughters. The cafes and restaurants at Penrith are cute and exude that family vibe. Highly recommend to do a stop-over at Penrith.

we visited Penrith as a bit of nostalgia as we used to go frequently in the past. The town was very quiet although we found a very good restaurant, GRANTS, for a delicious evening meal. It used to be a bustling market town which seems to have lost its heart . Maybe internet shopping has affected the economy of the town as is the case in many towns. It is perhaps a useful place to stay to explore the surrounding area which remains beautiful.

We used The Station Hotel as a stop off for a day trip to Scotland and could have stayed longer in Penrith as we barely took a look around. We had some dramas and it is credit to staff and management that they were able to sort booking confusions quickly and professionally. Thanks folks.

Penrith as a great place to base yourself for a stay in the Lake District. It's quieter than the more popular and populous towns of Keswick and Windermere - except in March when it hosts the World Marmalade Festival and, according to Karen and Ali from Blue Swallow Guesthouse, the town is decorated with Paddington Bears and Honey Pots. They even boast having one of the champion marmalade makers stay with them on an annual basis.

Free parking and a bar on site were positives as was the central location.
The advert said that it was a larger than average room but including the bathroom it was no more than 13ft by 8 ft. There was no table or chairs so not a pleasant area to spend any time. The bottom of the outside of the shower had ingrained dirt.

Penrith town very nice and quaint!
Penrith town very nice and quaint! The locals were lovely - in the bars, hotel and on the streets.
We visited Coniston lake and enjoyed it. Very pretty. nice cafe and food. boat trip very good.
Went to see Arthur's Round Table! Delightful. Nice hotel for coffee opposite.
Lots of free parking and the apartments are in a very quiet, out of the way farmland. The place is extremely comfortable and when we had an issue with the dryer not working it was replaced within 24 hours. (great response time). We should have stayed longer as this place has everything that you need. There is a wonderful tiny pub about 3 minutes drive away that does great food (The Globe Inn is open most evenings). The location suited us as we were doing some ancestry research in and around the area between Penrith and Carlisle.
I arrived too late for food at 21:00 as the Foundry 34 stops serving at 20:30, and the menu looked good. This meant I had to go to the local curry house as the only thing open.
The hotel is very clean and the rooms well decorated, and very comfortable. All excellent.
Breakfast was good - well cooked and excellent coffee.
All the staff were helpful & friendly - from providing me with the parking permit needed for an hour in the morning, to try and suggest somewhere to eat the evening of arrival.
If you fancy homecooked Cumbrian food this is the place to stay and you will enjoy high qiuality raw matrerials used by an excellent cook. Very service minded staff, which is the couple that has converted their home into a B&B. Not the standard of a modern hotel but it clealry has its charm. Located in a quite street a short walk uphill from the town center. On the back side it is only a short walk to the forrest recreactional walking paths. A large garden is nice to be in if the weather allows.
The friendliest and most accomodating guesthouse I've ever been to. Lots of little things make this place a special place to stay, very thoughtful and kind hosts consistently went above and beyond to make sure we had an excellent experience. We stayed here as part of the Coast to Coast cycle. An amazing place to relax and rest after a full days activity.100% would recommend to any couple looking for a lovely overnight stay!
Food great all seemed freshly cooked to order.
Our room huge , place spotless, staff really friendly.
Dinner at night we had booked before hand as thought would be busy. The tables more spaced out at door end of Hotel.
The food came really fast. good service considering they were fully booked and busy.
Massive car park round the back of hotel, bit tricky to find as one way system, but good sized spaces and free.
Staff were very helpful as we arrived very late and luckily the staff saw us as they were leaving the hotel and asked us if we needed any help. We explained that we had a booking so they stayed back to open the rooms for us and made sure we were settled. We also had a full English breakfast which was very good with lots of extra toast and tea.
Reception area and seating areas downstairs were welcoming and comfortable, with large sofas and open fireplaces. It had a really nice atmosphere. Bar and reception staff were friendly. Hotel has a good central location for exploring the beautiful Lake District - just a short walk into Penrith and a 10 minute drive from the Ullswater Steamer.
The lady on reception was engaging and very helpful. She was excellent. The front of house staff were all friendly and delivered good customer service.
The bar and lounge area were comfortable. The bar staff were friendly and helpful.
The location of the George Hotel is perfect for exploring Penrith centre.
Great location to explore north lakes /penrith. Lovely wee village with a green /playpark located right beside the hotel. Food was delicious and any changes we wanted to make were accommodated no problem. The staff were fantastic - very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is a couple of miles outside Penrith in a lovely quiet village. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a good selection of teas and coffee and nice biscuits! We ate at the pub in the evening and it was very good, as was breakfast.
Location was perfect for access into Penrith, with an easy stroll into the town centre. The property was nicely furnished and comfortable for a family to stay in, as well as being kitted out with everything you would need for a short, or longer stay.
The hotel was easy to find and was close to the centre of Penrith so had wasy access for shops and restaurants. There were all of the necessary facilities for food and drink preparation and also drying areas and bike space for those who required it.
The cottage is only a 10 minute drive from Penrith. It's in a quiet area and there's a really nice pub down the road.
The beds are very comfortable, and the cottage is very cosy. Gavin and Wendy are very helpful. Would love to stay again.
We had a lovely stay at the Brantwood Hotel. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel which were both delicious. This hotel is very good value for money. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.
A real gem in the heart of Penrith, great choice of breakfast and warm and friendly hospitality. We stayed on a Saturday night and found The Lounge Hotel & Bar to be exceptional value for money.
It was a very easy walk into the city of Penrith and the room had 2 beds and a microwave and mini fridge. It was the perfect size for 1 person but I think 2 people would be tight.
