Hotel really central and close to everything we needed. Room was really spacious with lots of room for 2 adults and a dog. Beds comfy with plenty of pillows, fairly clean. Lots of light / lamp options and lots of mirrors.
The first hotel ever to provide enough milk sachets for a nice room coffee! Breakfast was lovely - sausages could have been better but other ingredients and bacon especially was 10/10. Service at breakfast was lovely with sausages provided for the dog too - thank you!
We ate one lunch at the hotel and would really recommend the Welsh lamb burger.

Good location- staff were kind and helpful and food, together with accommodation was very good. Slight down side was when cooked breakfast was delivered to our table within minutes of us starting our cereal- perhaps staff could have checked if we had finished our starters before delivering cooked part- small issue but quite an important one. Otherwise all ok.

The area is great for walking and the scenery is breathtaking. Easy access to Barmouth, Fairbourne and Dolgellau on foot from penmaenpool as well as a Fantastic walks via the Toll Bridge to the opposite side of the estuary. Great pub on the estuary. Didn't use the car all weekend. Been to this area a few times and planning to return soon.

There are no shops, just a nice hotel/pub. There is a free carpark with toilets. There is a beautiful walk to Barmouth, about 6 miles and then you can get the bus back to the other side of the toll bridge. Whilst we there the gate for people was left open after the bridge closed to traffic but maybe check that as it is subject to the 'honesty' toll. There weren't many birds around the estuary (April).

This is a tiny place but full of character with toll bridge and tidal river with lots of wildlife to spot. It is the perfect place to go on walks from and though we didn’t many people follow the cycle track.

There isn't much in the direct vacinity of Penmaenpool but you are only 10mins drive from Dolgellau which has lots of lovely shops and restaurants. Your're also about 20mins drive to the seaside town of Barmouth which also has lots of shops and restaurants (great for some fish and chips by the sea!). For the more adventurous there is a lovely walk/bike ride on the Mwaddach trail (2hrs walk to Barmouth). Its a beautiful flat walk around the lake which goes right in front of the George 3rd hotel/pub.
