Peartree Farm B&B was excellent and outstanding value for money. Simple ensuite rooms on a working farm in picture perfect scenery. The breakfast was the highlight - in Beverley's beautiful farmhouse and so generous that I didn't need lunch, making the stay even better value for money.
The small bottles of real milk in the fridge in the room were a nice touch - so much better than little plastic pots of miserable UHT.
Aldwinkle itself had a lot more to it than just a cute name, including a nature reserve with bird spotting shelters, ye olde churches and more. I imagine Americans would be beside themselves at the quaintness.
A very pleasant 10 minute drive from Oundle, avoiding the main road, I will definitely be back.
Just 5 minutes' drive from Peterborough city centre and off junction 17 of the A1 at Peterborough Service Station, Days Inn Peterborough offers unlimited free Wi-Fi and free parking.

I was born in Oundle over sixty years ago and it has not changed too much in that time only the shops have improved and changed hands. However the last bank closed recently and we couldn’t find a link machine but there might have been one in Waitrose. The architecture is lovely and has a long history as the home of a Public school which encompasses the entire town. It is surrounded by the river Nene great for fishing and has a marina and a renowned boat building company Fairline boats. A lovely country park with old gravel pits now filled with water which attracts plenty of wild life. Plenty of places to have coffee and snacks plus a couple of pubs and two hotels/ Inn. Plus farmers markets are held on certain dates in the market square. There is also a wonderful artist and his shop on West Street who paints fantastic paintings of Oundle etc. It has a couple of supermarkets a comprehensive school, a Grammer school and a Public school which encompasses a lot of the town which is now co- educational and was originally founded by the Grocers of London, a very elite school. Overall a nice place to visit.

Oundle is only a small town but there are some useful and very good shops eg. independent bookshop, shoe shop, cookware shop.
It is easily accessible for some lovely walks and cycle rides. In the evening it is fairly quiet and it is compact enough to wander around.

Historical market down.
Historical market down. There is a map and trail that you can follow giving you info on the buildings. We had lunch in the garden of Dexters Bar & Kitchen which was very good. We had an evening meal in the Talbot Hotel which was lovely. The Barnwell country park is nearby amd is lovely for a stroll around

A picturesque and pleasant small market town, with some good quality independent shops. Not a huge range of dining options, but some atmospheric pubs and good coffee shops. Worth spending a couple of days to explore the town and the surrounding area which has some very picturesque villages.

The town is really a school, most of the buildings are school houses etc, really is different. Many visitors may be there to visit family they have there at the school. Its a good place to use as a base for the surrounding area.

Oundle is a rather strange but picturesque place dominated by a public school and its buildings.
the hotel exceeded our expectations and was very good value for money though the food needs some attention.
This is a really beautiful hotel in a lovely town. Everything was exceptional: a very big room with a huge bathroom and shower, a very big breakfast ( though the hollandaise sauce in that amount was a bit questionable), a comfy bed and amazingly helpful and friendly staff. I enjoyed reading the booklet about the history of the hotel too - mind the ghost! I go to Oundle regularly and will definitely stay again.
The hotel was beautiful. We had two rooms booked and both were great. Breakfast was included for free and it was delicious. We had a car and needed parking. This was provided for free and an added bonus. The grounds were immaculate and very appealing. We had a drink at the pub the night we arrived and loved the ambiance. We would definitely come back.
Absolutely loved our stay at Chapel Cottage, it was one of the nicest holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. It really felt like a home from home which is often not the case. Spotlessly clean and evert detail thought of by Helen. Oundle itself is a lovely place to visit. Highly, highly, recommended.
Nothing went well, since it was completely impossible to make contact with the staff. I actually did not stay at the hotel but could not inform them that I was not coming since they didn't once pick up the phone, despite my many many efforts to leave a message, send an email or get through on the phone.
Helen's cottage was perfect for our short stay in Oundle. The cottage was extremely clean and is well located, just off the high street and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Helen provided milk, chocolates, tea and coffee on arrival and communication was smooth throughout.
I love everything about the Talbot,it never fails to please
Our Daughter lives in Oundle. but we always choose to stay at the Talbot, wouldn't stay anywhere else.. Cleanliness is first class and the staff are all wonderful, thank you to everyone, already looking for to our next visit.
The location is excellent. We are regular visitors to Oundle to see our family. So proximity of property to family home was ideal.Property was very quiet And bed very very comfortable zzzzz Fantastic little café.The greedy piglet is next door so excellent for breakfast and snacks
The hotel and staff were excellent as were the meals we ate there. Nothing was too much trouble, right down to providing a bucket and cloth to wash off Bird poo that was splattered over my car when I foolishly parked beneath the trees in the car park. Lesson Learnt!
Great historic hotel in beautiful town. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious. Parking lot was easily accessible to rooms and cleaning staff went above and beyond. No mini fridge in room but plenty of coffee and tea facilities and fans available.
Lovely looking hotel with plenty of charm.
The bedroom had character and a very well appointed bathroom. All the extras you would expect.
Excellent breakfast and the dinner was also very enjoyable and good value for money in a lovely dining room
It was close to home but felt like a world and a lifetime away. Every member of the hotel team we met were helpful, happy and couldn't have made us feel more relaxed and comfortable. The two night vacation has felt like a week away! Super!
Hotel has a nice ambiance that you would expect from an old coaching Inn and an excellent position in the centre of the town. The rooms are comfortably furnished with nice touches such as complementary bars of chocolate and bottled water.
Really well appointed modern 3 bed house that’s in a good condition and has everything you need for a stay in the lovely town of Oundle. Super fast WiFi and Comms from the owner was also excellent.
Great location for visiting family; very comfortable and well equipped cottage - very cosy! Garden ideal for our pup and we enjoyed lots of late night walks around Oundle..,
