Location was good. Disappointed in the breakfast. We thought we had breakfast included. We were informed we hadn’t. We asked if we could pay for coffee and a muffin or toast and we’re abruptly told no. We could buy coffee. Did not find this location friendly.

Oban is a city built around a late 18th-century distillery that produces one of the finest single malt whiskeys in Scotland. This normally peaceful town is invaded during summer when tourists use it as a base to visit the Inner Hebrides islands such as Mull, Lismore and Coll, supporting its status as the Gateway to the Isles.
The horseshoe-shaped Oban Bay is sheltered by Kerrera Island with its spectacular Gylen Castle. Award-winning seafood restaurants and lively pubs line George Street and the waterfront of Corran Esplanade adjacent to the harbour.
Take a short walk up the hill to McCaig’s Tower, a structure based on the Roman Colosseum, for the finest views of Oban’s centre and the outer islands. When you get back down to sea level, stroll into and stumble out of the Oban whiskey distillery after sampling the local version of the 'water of life'.
Admire the coastal scenery as you travel a bit out of town to the 7th-century ruins of Dunollie Castle, home of the Clan MacDougall. The Firth of Lorn gives visitors a fanatstic opportunity to try some sea kayaking.
As the capital of North Argyll, Oban has a great selection of hotels, guest houses and B&Bs available on Booking.com.

Oban is a pleasant lively seaside town with plenty of shops, places to eat and drink, its own distillery, and a whisky shop stocking every whisky you have ever heard of and quite a few you haven't. It has a lively ferry port from which you can catch trips to many of the western isles, as well as organised day trips to Mull, Iona, Staffa or and , although in summer you may have to travel up the coast for some crossings. There are also coach excursions available to Glenco and the highlands, tours to Loch Lomaond and other lochs, ans tours to nearby distilleries. Arriving in Oban from either an hebridean island or from the mountainous hinterland you feel as if you emerged back from the jungle as the town is thriving and busy. You can also get there by train although these are not very frequent. Once you arrive the attractions are all within a short walk - on our visit we saw a pipe band playing in the centre of town, and for Sunday the Cathedral was only a short walk. The beach was also popular with swimmers and clean (although not yet warm enough early June for me to go in). A most pleasant seaside town to visit for a few days.

Oban is a great town to visit.
Oban is a great town to visit. There are good fish and chip shops with local fish, interesting shops, there's a great wee museum and a distillery and overall it feels like a friendly bustling thriving place. Parking isn't much of a problem and the ferry terminal is handy for trips to the islands.

Love Oban, been there a few times. Lovely town and a good base to explore other islands nearby. Great ferry service. McCaig tower is worth a visit - great views, but a steep climb, so easier with a car if mobility, or other ailments are a problem. Some nice shops you could easily spend money there 😂

We loved Oban Lovely to walk along the front
We loved Oban Lovely to walk along the front
and look over the water and identify the boats
that are there.
Lovely food available which made our wee two
night break enjoyable for us in Oban Inn.
Beautiful Victorian building right on the waterfront which is always spectacular in Oban. Despite the reviews we booked last minute for a break away just 40 minutes from home and we were not let down. Whilst for the price I do not expect this to be like other hotels we use worldwide but it was clean, comfortable, warm, shower and bathroom were great, parking right outside and we walked into town for dinner, drinks and some live music. Staff were courteous, polite and fun. Did not eat or drink with them but everything else no complaints
This is a very nice family style hotel with great views of the water. Room was comfortable, nice bathroom and a walkout balcony with a table and chairs and a terrific view of the water and bridge. Very quiet. They are located about 12 min. from Oban and an ideal location for us. Oban can be a bit hectic. Breakfasts were absolutely wonderful with a wide variety of choices and fixed to order. We ate 2 evening meals in the dinning room and they were delicious. The dinning room looks out over a beautiful lawn and water.
Jacqueline and Stuart were welcoming, gracious and had genuine concern for the comfort and well-being of their house guests. We visited during very treacherous weather conditions but they were a calming presence and offered good solid advise for our onward travels. If we visit Oban again we will most definitely stay at the Rose Villa Guest house. Our room was well appointed , very clean , offered instant hot water shower and had all the comforts you would expect in a top notch hotel room. Good job Jacqueline and Stuart !!
The Manor House itself is quite beautiful and provides wonderful views of the Port of Oban. The host when we checked in, David, was very friendly, informative, and funny! He served me a 'tour of Oban Distillery' whisky flight which was incredible. He really knew his stuff!
The hotel is only a short walk away from all the main offerings of Oban. Once we arrived, we did not need to take our car anywhere to see the city.
This is the best hotel I have stayed in, in Oban. It was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful.
I liked the breakfast very much - french toast with maple syrup. The location was ideal for me - about five minutes walk from the railway station (and ferry terminal), and also five minutes from the Tesco supermarket, and near the main street of the town.
Corrimar made us like Oban. The room was clean, big and with big windows open to a fantastic sea-view. It’s only 10-15 mins walk to the city centre along the seaside. We are not fuzzy about breakfast. The restaurant in Oban Bay Hotel a few blocks away totally satisfied our crave for good food. To us, Corrimar House is perfect. We will definitely come back.
We both work for the airlines, and are in about 125 hotel rooms a year. There is at least one fault in each of them.
In your castle, neither of us could find any! Food, surroundings, and everything else was excellent.
It will be our first stop on our next Scotland vacation.
Thanks Simon and Alana.
Joe and Juliana.
It was nice to get the buffet breakfast back, though we had to pay for the breakfast.
Next time we'll be booking direct through the hotel so the breakfast will be included in the room rate.
We have been coming to Oban at least twice a year over the last 10 or more years and have always stayed at Columba hotel.
A smart boutique hotel overlooking the harbour entrance to Oban and a 10 minute walk to the town centre. Excellent modern decor with vintage touches. Guest focused with lovely touch in having an honesty box for the bar. Member of staff Rachel was so welcoming and made our stay so memorable.
Staff were superb, hotel was okay but dated, brekkie wis good.
Extremely dissspointed with booking .com because they initially told me my booking had failed. My mate then booked so we ended up having 2 rooms when 1 was all we needed.
Room was very clean, spacious, with fantastic view of Oban Harbour. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely with good selection. Hotel in perfect location. Spa was nice and relaxing. Perfect stay.
The location, staff, and facilities were fantastic. They were extremely kind and accommodating and the building itself is full of classic seaside hotel charm. I won't hesitate to book again next time I'm in Oban.
I have stayed in this Hotel before and it has a great location and enjoyed a good breakfast. Comfortable room . Lovely sitting area with beautiful views overlooking Oban Bay
