This is an old pub in a quaint village, the original building has had extensions. Plenty of character in the old pub, the room we stayed in was in a newer part overlooking the rear gardens.
We loved the communal table, where people can join strangers for a chat. Sadly no one chose to join us, maybe next time...
We ate food, which was good quality and sufficient choices.
We liked it was well behaved dog friendly, even biscuits on the bar for them.
The staff were friendly, the lady at breakfast was great, down to earth and human!
Good breakfast, we really enjoyed our stay.

The room was very comfortable and large with lots of storage. The facilities were great too. Would have liked a walk in shower as I am disabled and my husband had to help me get in the bath to use the shower.

We were visiting for my daughter's wedding so didn't do a lot of sightseeing but can recommend Blas at Fronlas as a cafe as well as accommodation and also the Secret Garden for evening food. Pretty scenery. Can also recommend Nantwen as a wedding venue. Just a pointer, if you have limited mobility the parking is down a long hill in a public pay and display and there are a few steps up to the beautiful rooms above the cafe. Blas at Fronlas Cafe shuts at about 3.30 but guests have a key for the front door and if you need it a ring doorbell. We felt so welcome.

Our three night stay with my parents in law at Duffryn was exceptional. The farm and the self contained accommodation of 2 double bedrooms living area and 2 bathrooms plus a private patio was stunning as were the views of the Pembrokeshire coast. Our lovely host Sally went above and beyond welcoming us with tea and a homemade lemon cake. The “welsh continental” breakfast served in her beautiful kitchen was delicious- local ham, cheese, bread, fruit and cereal and even homemade marmalade. It was a very special weekend. Thank you Sally!

Easy parking at the side of the hotel, reserved for guests. A short walk to a gorgeous bays with magnificent views. Tastefully decorated room and modern bathroom. Very nice and helpful staff and you must book dinner in the restaurant there. A lovely room and very good food with original choices for the more adventurous; great staff!
Everything! The view, the underfloor heating, the massive bath, the breakfast, the view, the view, the view. I could have stayed inside all day and just stared at the landscape. It was like slow moving painting. It was honestly the best birthday treat I have had in a very long time. I can't wait to come back one day. Paradise in Wales.
Quiet and peaceful, great location and only a short walk to Newport Beach. Spacious family room. Able to park the car outside the room. Fabulous evening views (weather permitting) Sitting outside as the Sun Sets across the sea having a local Ale. Links golf course. Very pleasant conversation with the owner.
The location was great. Newport is a quaint village near the sea. The property is kept to a high standard and looks to be newly renovated. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly. We would stay there again!
We loved the rustic modern charm of the accommodations. Very clean and comfortable. Isobel was so sweet and accommodating. The morning breakfast hamper was beyond fabulous. Close to the Wales Coastal Path. Definitely stay here when visiting Newport!
The location on the main road was easy to find - the hotel was well run with polite staff who were very helpful and some
spoke the welsh language. The Hotel had many facets to it and the grounds were well landscaped and maintained.
The location is perfect for us as I have family in the area
Close to Newport beach and The Parrog
the grounds are very interesting and exceptionally well stocked with an amazing collection of plants and fruit trees
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tyddyn Bac. The cottage is very homely with all the facilities that anyone would need. It is within easy walking distance of all the excellent pubs and restaurants in Newport.
Super helpful staff and lovely accommodation, perfect for what we wanted. Added bonus of the best cooked breakfast I can remember having at a hotel, highly recommend for anyone looking in Newport Pembs!

Best place we've ever stayed in West Wales and will definitely be going back!
A lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly, room and bed very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. Would definitely stay there again and recommend the Golden Lion to others.
Spotless, excellent decor, location perfect for Newport and the wider pembrokeshire region. Right on the coastal path. Host was excellent, good communication. Breaky was amazing
The bar and restaurant facilities were excellent, both in respect of the staff and quality of the food served. Parking was convenient, and easy access to the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I really appreciated knowing about the path to Newport so that I could avoid the road. Breakfast was fabulous.
