Trewern Arms Hotel, hotel in Newport Pembrokeshire

Trewern Arms Hotel offers accommodation in the hamlet of Nevern, near Newport, Pembrokeshire. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Rooms are fitted with a TV.

This is an old pub in a quaint village, the original building has had extensions. Plenty of character in the old pub, the room we stayed in was in a newer part overlooking the rear gardens. We loved the communal table, where people can join strangers for a chat. Sadly no one chose to join us, maybe next time... We ate food, which was good quality and sufficient choices. We liked it was well behaved dog friendly, even biscuits on the bar for them. The staff were friendly, the lady at breakfast was great, down to earth and human! Good breakfast, we really enjoyed our stay.

We were visiting for my daughter's wedding so didn't do a lot of sightseeing but can recommend Blas at Fronlas as a cafe as well as accommodation and also the Secret Garden for evening food. Pretty scenery. Can also recommend Nantwen as a wedding venue. Just a pointer, if you have limited mobility the parking is down a long hill in a public pay and display and there are a few steps up to the beautiful rooms above the cafe. Blas at Fronlas Cafe shuts at about 3.30 but guests have a key for the front door and if you need it a ring doorbell. We felt so welcome.

Really lovey place with beautiful grounds. We stayed one night with our dog en route to Fishguard for our ferry the following day. We were made very welcome by friendly staff and our room was lovely. We had a lovely dinner in the dog friendly room in the bar and a great breakfast too! Would def recommend, couldn’t fault anything and very good value for money.

Newport is a lovely small village with beautiful walks and a wonderful beach just 3 miles away. There are several very nice places to eat with several more just a few miles away. It's also an excellent base for trips to Tenby, St David's and Pembroke.

Our three night stay with my parents in law at Duffryn was exceptional. The farm and the self contained accommodation of 2 double bedrooms living area and 2 bathrooms plus a private patio was stunning as were the views of the Pembrokeshire coast. Our lovely host Sally went above and beyond welcoming us with tea and a homemade lemon cake. The “welsh continental” breakfast served in her beautiful kitchen was delicious- local ham, cheese, bread, fruit and cereal and even homemade marmalade. It was a very special weekend. Thank you Sally!

Everything! The view, the underfloor heating, the massive bath, the breakfast, the view, the view, the view. I could have stayed inside all day and just stared at the landscape. It was like slow moving painting. It was honestly the best birthday treat I have had in a very long time. I can't wait to come back one day. Paradise in Wales.
