Although the accommodation was compact (as expected) everything was to a high standard: very comfy beds, good linen and towels, well equipped shower room, and lots of thoughtful touches, like a wide selection of teas/coffees and fresh Welsh cakes and butter awaiting us on our arrival. The fresh breakfast, delivered at a time we had chosen, was excellent: choice of yoghurts, big bowl of fresh fruit, granola/muesli, warm French bread, fresh croissants and selection of jams. Isobel was lovely, very friendly and helpful.

We loved the location (very convenient for Challenge Wales we participated in), the sea view from the room upstairs, the large garden, and the firm bed in the perfect-to-sleep temperature room. The cottage was equipped better than we needed.

Beautiful peaceful location. My room had a sea view in the distance which I could see from the window while lying in bed.
Near to some very lovely coast line, even though I was only staying for work I managed to get down to the beach at Poppit Sands to have my fish and chips for dinner.
Breakfast was lovely, a well poached egg and good ingredients.

We were visiting for my daughter's wedding so didn't do a lot of sightseeing but can recommend Blas at Fronlas as a cafe as well as accommodation and also the Secret Garden for evening food. Pretty scenery. Can also recommend Nantwen as a wedding venue. Just a pointer, if you have limited mobility the parking is down a long hill in a public pay and display and there are a few steps up to the beautiful rooms above the cafe. Blas at Fronlas Cafe shuts at about 3.30 but guests have a key for the front door and if you need it a ring doorbell. We felt so welcome.

Our three night stay with my parents in law at Duffryn was exceptional. The farm and the self contained accommodation of 2 double bedrooms living area and 2 bathrooms plus a private patio was stunning as were the views of the Pembrokeshire coast. Our lovely host Sally went above and beyond welcoming us with tea and a homemade lemon cake. The “welsh continental” breakfast served in her beautiful kitchen was delicious- local ham, cheese, bread, fruit and cereal and even homemade marmalade. It was a very special weekend. Thank you Sally!

The Castle Inn is in the centre of Newport and just a short walk down to the Parrog. Our room was roomy and quiet and we slept well after our walks in the beautiful fresh air of Pembrokeshire. Glynn and Alison provided a magnificent breakfast menu each morning and were so friendly and welcoming. They went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed during our stay. The food was exceptional and we will certainly return. Our little 2 night stay made us feel as though we had had a weeks holiday. Thank you Glynn, Alison, Thomas and Charlotte.
A lovely house. Very nicely decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. Good location just 3 miles outside Fishguard. Extremely well equipped. A shame we were only there for 3 nights. Strongly recommend The Catch for fish and chips which is in Dinas Cross - best eaten on the local beach and The Canteen in Newport for Pizza. For a full house it would be extremely good value but there were just two of us - a lot of space for 2!
We absolutely loved Ecton House, we are so glad we were able to stay an extra day. The room was of excellent standard, clean and spacious with amazing views out to sea. Great hosts, delicious fresh breakfasts served in your room. A short walk into the town and a shorter walk to get to the Wales Coastal Path, with glorious hikes in all directions.
Easy parking at the side of the hotel, reserved for guests. A short walk to a gorgeous bays with magnificent views. Tastefully decorated room and modern bathroom. Very nice and helpful staff and you must book dinner in the restaurant there. A lovely room and very good food with original choices for the more adventurous; great staff!
Beautiful location, which was a surprise as I put Newport in booking.com search thinking this was near Cardiff not knowing their was a 2nd Newport in Wales!☺️ If I'd known how lovely this area was would have booked to stay longer! Lovely breakfast and friendly staff serving it.
And our room was perfect for getting outside with our dog.
This hotel really undersells itself. The listing made no mention of the exquisite secret garden with its fire pits; outside bar and eating pods or the wine tastings; on-site salmon smokery and e-bike tours. The decor is fabulous and our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was great with lots of choice
Quiet and peaceful, great location and only a short walk to Newport Beach. Spacious family room. Able to park the car outside the room. Fabulous evening views (weather permitting) Sitting outside as the Sun Sets across the sea having a local Ale. Links golf course. Very pleasant conversation with the owner.
What wonderful hosts Martina and Jason were - they and all the staff in the cafe went out of their way to make our stay in Newport quite exceptional. Breakfasts were truly delicious with a choice of the cafe or wonderful sunny courtyard garden to sit and eat in. Highly recommend without any reservations.
The location was great. Newport is a quaint village near the sea. The property is kept to a high standard and looks to be newly renovated. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly. We would stay there again!
A very comfortable hotel, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent. Its location was very handy for Newport beach and there were also local pints of historical interest to explore.
A very friendly and relaxed welcome which set the tone for our stay. Comfortable accommodation in the ideal location for a visit to Newport. An excellent vegan breakfast, one of the best I have had.
A lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly, room and bed very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. Would definitely stay there again and recommend the Golden Lion to others.
Spotless, excellent decor, location perfect for Newport and the wider pembrokeshire region. Right on the coastal path. Host was excellent, good communication. Breaky was amazing
The bar and restaurant facilities were excellent, both in respect of the staff and quality of the food served. Parking was convenient, and easy access to the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I really appreciated knowing about the path to Newport so that I could avoid the road. Breakfast was fabulous.
