We book a room for the night on the way through heading home as we have often passed Winchester but not stayed so figure why not.
The staff were so lovely and accommodating, the room was clean, comfortable and perfect size, great balcony to sit out and have a cuppa! - the bar offers a range of ales and beers popular to taste along with a wide range of spirits, liquors.
The food was incredible the starters, the best burger I think I’ve ever eaten and a gorgeous desert all accompanied with two pints of Moretti and desert wine to finish the evening a beautiful Muscat Elysium!
Would highly recommend the stay, we slept comfortably and the staff were respectful of people staying when leaving and closing up. A gem of a place.

The Cottage was exactly as pictured on Booking.com. My family needed a very quiet bolt hole which was clean and had good wifi to recharge our batteries in the middle to a hectic trip. This is exactly what we got. The hosts are extremely warm and friendly. The location is absolutely tranquil. There was adequate off road parking for a large van. We got to have a river-side evening walk before a peaceful nights sleep. The cottage was very clean with every amenity considered. We even had a recommendation for breakfast the following day. The price is as you would expect for the area and worth every penny.

Amazing first impression, We had a lovely lady welcome us who explained how everything works, she gave us the key to our hut and off we went. Opening the huts we were very happy with the accommodation as we hadn't done much research so it was a surprise to us. The hut had lots of little homely touches, candles, hand made curtains, fluffy blankets, clean towels and the comfiest bed ive ever been on,!! There was also a kettle, mugs, tea coffee etc, plug sockets. It was super clean. The surroundings are beautiful lots of forestry, a massive green with lots of tables and chairs for your use, it was very well kept and maintained. The hut was just a 10min drive to Petersfield in one direction and Winchester in the other direction, We went to visit a really lovely place 10mins away called caffeine and machine which did lovely food, drinks and music. We then visited Petersfield for dinner where there are a number of lovely restaurants. Whilst out the lovely staff had messaged to say they were locking up but would we like any food or drink left at the hut for us for when we got back, very thoughtful. The next day no one was booked in after us so we were allowed to stay as long as wanted instead of leaving at the check out time so we made the most of the pub garden which was lovely. If you are looking for a little getaway from a busy life then i highly recommend the Fox, we will definitely be back.

We visited New Alresford as we were going on the Watercress Line for the Christmas Illuminations experience. The town itself is small but beautiful and we enjoyed a little stroll around despite the fact that Covid restrictions are in place.

New Alresford is a small town with walks to the river and a traditional steam railway. So near to winchester with a good bus service. Relaxing, individual shops and a great place to relax. There is a good choice of restaurants and pubs. I would consider staying in New Alresford again and using public transport to get to winchester.
Absolutely amazing... room was small for a twin but I was alone so not a problem... perfectly clean, lovely decor and very cozy... The hotel itself is very trendy and obviously a local hotspot, so much so I couldn’t eat that evening as they were fully booked, again only a good thing and not a problem for me
We loved New Alresford location. Also apartment was amazing and really well equiped, and quiet, and literally a few metres away from the main street. Perfect location. Also the host went out of their way to help swap over the apartment key after we left the wrong key behind. Sorry :)
Room was a nice size for a two night stay with on suite having shower rather than bath. Breakfast was good but would have appreciated the availability of fresh fruit and yogurt as an option. Lunch was eaten in hotel on arrival which was nice .
A characterful hotel with wonderful staff keen to help in any way. Food in the restaurant was first class and very good value. Well placed for local touring. Excellent value and highly recommended.
Apartment was lovely had everything we needed, food at the hotel was delicious, really friendly staff, the manager was very attentive and hotel in a great location
