In honesty, this property is so well located for walking, one would really want to stay for longer. The only issue with that is that there is no real chance to be "self catering". Having said that, with Kerry's cooking, no-one in their right mind would go there and not dine with the hosts. The dishwasher is David, sounds odd but all you have to do is leave your used crockery in a bowl and it is returned, they were even kind enough to wash our "keepy warmy" travel flasks for us. It is very bijou, if you are large and tall then consider that the bed is a standard double. The building is cute but the windows don't open so be ready to sleep with the door open, there is little chance of any intrusion!

The centre of Nelson has seen better days but that doesn't matter when Colne and and other smaller towns like Skipton, Hebbdon Bridge, Clitheroe and others are nearby. If like me you like the countryside Nelson is a very good starting point for the Sothern Pennines.

Nelson is a place that is multicultural.
Nelson is a place that is multicultural. All different nationalities live here sharing all the shopping and leisure facilities.
It is a little run down but the surrounding area has lots of beautiful areas to visit.
Pendle Hill, Brontë Sisters in Haworth, Skipton Market and Castle, The Crow Wood Spa in Burnley, said to be the Best Spa on the UK, which was my favourite place to visit. We made meals in the bungalow, but ate one night at the Thatch and Thistle, do not recommend. . the next night we ate at the Shooters Arms over the tops of Nelson and that I can recommend, beautiful food great service and a real log fire.
