Nailsworth is a beautiful village in the Cotswolds- location is stunning. Unfortunately the hotel looks amazing from outside but is dirty and lacks ambiance. We have stayed there for many years but since a new company took over it has gone downhill.

As we had been travelling with quite a bit of luggage, we wanted a base to travel from. We had a car so we travelled north to some of the Cotswold villages like Stanton, Bourton on the Water and Buckley which was about an hour drive, with other villages on the way. The drive to Bath to the South was about the same length of time. If staying in a self contained apartment centrally, you can save money with the choice of a few supermarkets and takeaways within walking distance.
Also if staying in the centre of the village and you need to park on the street, a lot of the parking is timed between 8am and 6pm (free), which can make it difficult but there is a Free long stay park in the village. Road through the village can be quite busy. We didn’t explore the whole village as all we needed for our stay was within walking distance once settled.
Some of the restaurant choices were Italian, Chinese (very good value and all the dishes we had were great) and Indian.

Nailsworth is a very small, quaint town with some independent shops and a supermarket. We had a fabulous meal at Amalfi (Italian restaurant in the town) and would highly recommend this, excellent food and service (and I am super picky about restaurants)

Nailsworth is on of the most attractive small towns on the edge of the Cotswolds. It also has great cafes and good restaurants. Some of the best walks can be found within 5 miles. There is also a golf course on the common above with fantastic views. Cirencester is also a few miles away and is a beautiful town just to walk around (maybe a Cream Tea!). Cheltenham is also only 12 miles away with its splendid Regency Houses.

Nailsworth is very pretty town set in a lovely valley.
Nailsworth is very pretty town set in a lovely valley. It has lots of character and charm and was an ideal size to explore. It has a central location for visiting other villages in the southern Cotswolds.
There are many eating options.
We would not hesitate to recommend Nailsworth as a destination to spend at least 2 or 3 days in. We would also suggest the Egypt Mill Hotel as a place to stay.
Communication with Rachel was excellent and she let me know how to avoid the road works, which blocked the road getting to them, so the message was really useful. The room was very well appointed and a lot of thought has gone into providing comfort for an overnight stay. The bed was very comfy and having the small fridge a bonus, as I had to store medication. The full English breakfast was outstanding. Lovely to have free parking right outside.
It was a short walk into Nailsworth and some great places to eat.
Superb property, great location. Everything fully explained by the hosts - who couldn't be easier to deal with. Nailsworth is a beautiful small town with the world's greenest football team 'Forest Green Rovers' among it's residents. Everyone is lovely & the pace of life is ideal for a break away. All local business are big enough to cope & small enough to care. The bus service is surprisingly good too.
In our travels through England, Scotland, and Ireland, this was our very favorite accommodation! The apartment was cozy and had so many thoughtful little touches. We even ate a very quick dinner so we could get back and enjoy the comforts of the apartment. Would 100 percent recommend this to anyone visiting Nailsworth.
Location was great, right in the centre close to some shops and Italian and Indian restaurants. Lovely breakfast hamper with cereals, granola, fresh fruit and juice, homemade yoghurt and muffin. Check-in was very easy with clear communications from absent hosts. Parking is free in Nailsworth :)
Gorgeous location on the brook with a short walk into Nailsworth. Dog friendly property (certain rooms) and they are allowed in the bar and restaurant at breakfast. Light breakfast of cereal and pastry is included. The restaurant and bar are beautiful.
