Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. The service we received from checking in at reception, during our meals, when visiting the spa right to checking out was consistently superb. The location was also perfect as we had walked up Pen y Fan the day we checked in.
Perfectly situated within the Valley and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the hotel’s position allows easy access to many of the sites of interest in the area
A new and vibrant hotel,...

Definitely need a car to get around this area.
Definitely need a car to get around this area. Not quite the luxury I was looking for. Accomodation and breakfast where I stayed was fairly basic. Quite limited in eating out options too.
Managed to walk the Pen y Fan which was the highlight of my stay here.

Nice town with some lovely places to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Friendly bar with live music at the weekend. Also there is a Wetherspoon. The Zip World was only a 30 min drive away and is fantastic. Great scenery and walks near by.

Only stayed 2 days and then was at an event so not enough time to explore. However on an evening plenty of places to eat and drink. Tesco Extra and range of other shops incl. Saturday street market. Train and bus transport hub, and plenty of places to explore a short distance away.

Liked the fact it has good public transport links to the Brecon Beacons the town itself looks a bit run down in places like many these days but had everything we needed with lots of things to do nearby. We enjoyed climbing Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, visiting Lyn Cwm Llwch, walking along parts of the Taff Trail, visiting The Brecon Mountain Railway, Cyfarthfa Castle and park as well as things further a field.

Centre -lovely trails and views.
Also the Brecon Beacons were within easy reach.
We ate at Nant Ddu the first night and shared 3 tasty side dishes between us.
Not too far from 3 near locations where my Dad was born and lived in Penwhriceiber, Cefn Pennar and Mountain Ash. Able to visit as near.
Wonderful staff, all super friendly and couldn't be more accommodating with requests and help on the local area. We stayed in room 3 which was very clean and spacious and had a lovely view. The hotel is in a great location to explore everything the Brecon Beacons have to offer and is lovely and quiet which makes sleeping very easy and comfortable.
Breakfast service was great and the food was fresh and filling. Really great little B&B and amazing value for money. We will definitely be going back and recommending to all.
The studio is a good size and has a good bathroom and kitchen with everything you need. It is in a convenient location for bike park Wales. There is a large public car park at the rear which was very handy. James the owner is very responsive and came out almost immediately when we had an issue with the electric at 9:30pm on a Sun night, which was quickly fixed. He also sent us lots of info pre-arrival which was very useful.
The food at the hotel was wonderful, from breakfast to evening meals. Very tasty and worth the money. The room looked a bit dated, but was clean. We didn't book a spa treatment but had access to the pool and this was quiet the whole time we were there so we were able to get a lounger each day with no problem. Easy access to Pen y Fan, Brecon town, and routes to Cardiff Neath and Swansea.
Fantastic location for what we were in the Brecon's for - hiking. Extremely easy to find and check in was stress free. Rooms were very spacious, clean and the amenities were great (especially the bath's in every room we had, full of cold water after a long day in the mountains!). Great breakfast and stroll down to the beautiful reservoir in the morning. Highly recommend!
Free Wifi and excellent cooked full English breakfast. Plenty of hot water for a shower after a cold walk on Pen y Fan while the rest of my contingent camped in the cold. . Easy to park and find. The restaurant was not open so we ordered a kebab from town.
Perfectly located for Bike Park Wales, and a way better option than the camping sites and hotels. And cheaper than most of them with better facilities! Spacious, clean, great communication from the hosts. Will be looking to book again.
The room was perfect. The interior is modern and finished to a high spec.
The location is ideal for exploring the Brecon Beacons and surrounding areas and walking distance for pubs and restaurants in Merthyr Tydfil.
Great price too
Ideal place to stay while working in the area. Everything needed for cooking. Big washer/dryer was really useful.
Covered area outside back door was good.
We will be glad to stay again next time we are in the area.
It was a perfect place to stay at whilst we enjoyed the slopes at Bike Park Wales. There was even a safe bike storage outside. Everything was comfortable and spacious and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there.
Nice food, friendly, helpful staff, big room that was comfortable for a family. Dinner at the restaurant was the nicest food I have eaten in that area. Breakfast was very generous and tasty.
The Shed was the perfect location for our trip to Bike Park Wales. All self contained and warm and cosy on a V.cold November night! Lots of lovely little touches and good breakfast
