Lovely old fashioned village in idyllic countryside.

Lovely old fashioned village in idyllic countryside. Excellent pub though I had a bad experience there. Handy village shop with all you might need and a friendly helpful owner .Church and grounds look nice , not a lot there but a nice place to visit and relax

Food was excellent, and service in the main was good.

Food was excellent, and service in the main was good. Breakfast service was a little slow on our last day, but 1st 2 days was great as had requested early breakfast which we pre ordered. Room was not serviced during stay which was not a problem till we ran out of toilet paper.

Meifod is a small Welsh farming village, charming and quiet (inspite of the A495 main road) . Many walks from the hotel door to be had. 20 minutes drive to Lake Vyrnwy, and the same to the Pistyll Rhaedr waterfall. The nearest local town is Welshpool for all the normal conveniences, plus the National Trust property and exquisite gardens of Powis Castle is 5 minutes drive from Welshpool.

The hotel has an old world charm but still caters well for younger people with a huge covered outside dining area & two different types of menus to cater for all tastes . Of course there is an indoor dining/breakfast room also & from May 17th when restrictions were lifted ,myself & other residents dined inside with adequate precautions. The outside area & bar is frequented by locals alongside residents & at the weekends there is a vibrant ,busy atmosphere.

Meifod is a quiet little village .

Meifod is a quiet little village . We picked it as it was close to where my daughters course was being held. It's close to Powys Castle and other small towns like Oswestry and Welshpool and lake Vyrnwy and not too far to go to Shrewsbury or Llangollen for the day

    Very quiet village.

Very quiet village. Pretty but only a pub & corner shop but ideal access to other areas. Be prepared. No mobile signal which can be a very big positive or negative depending on need..😏 An ideal spot for walkers, ramblers & cyclists.
