Easy to locate and the staff were outstanding! Myself and my partner were attending a wedding all day and were unable to just nip and check in. I phoned the staff and explained they explained how to get to the property and how to enter etc passed the check in time with a specific code. I had all the details on text as well which was a life saver after a few drinks lol! Very comfy bed and just what we needed to lay our heads.

Beautiful view. Staff lovely.
Asked about a taxi and as leaving for our event the receptionist handed us a list of other numbers incase we needed them. Above and beyond.

The staff were friendly and helpful, even supplying a packed lunch as I left too early for the included breakfast, and the location was also good for my travels next day.

The Lion at Malpas is located in Malpas which is a 15 minute drive from the nearest main town of Whitchurch. The rooms are located adjacent to the main restaurant/bar area which offers a much quieter surrounding. All of the garden areas are beautifully kept and maintained which only adds to the whole experience.
Our room was spacious and well designed with plenty of wardrobe/storage space, large comfortable bed and decent bathroom with both bath & shower. I would highly recommend The Lion at Malpas to any one either passing through or looking for a longer stay in an idyllic setting. The staff are very welcoming and keen to assist at all times making our stay even more pleasurable. A big thank you to Lisa (assistant manager) who helped us overcome a minor issue with our booking - what a star !!!

The reception on our late arrival, the rapid arrangements for dinner, excellent menu and choices of wine and beer, excellent room and assistance with luggage in very poor weather. Very popular and therefore parking (on Saturday night) could not be reserved and was not straightforward. Malpas is on a busy narrow high.street.

A beautiful house in a country setting.
A beautiful house in a country setting. I had a very large bedroom with lovely views over the grounds including a lake. Spotlessly clean and we felt all covid rules were followed implicitly. Would highly recommend

I recently stayed at The Lion Hotel, whilst attending a friend's wedding at the nearby, Iscoyd Park. Overall, we had a brilliant stay. The rooms were modern and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The pub itself looked fantastic and the breakfast served was one of the best I've had at a B&B. It was a fantastic value for money and I would highly recommend a visit. We look forward to returning.
From the 1st contact to arriving Sally Anne was great even though this is a working farm and the cottage is in the middle we never felt over looked .it was lovely and warm on arrival and has everything you need to go away some great dog walks in the area .We went to The Lion in Malpas on xmas eve for lunch the food was amazing very friendly staff and great service. Would definitely recommend .
The Lion at Malpas is simply one of the very best 'pub with rooms' hotels in the country. The standard of the accommodation, furnishings and artworks is top grade. The staff are very professional and attentive. The car park is spacious. The cuisine is very good. Easy access to walking the Cheshire sandstone trail.
The hotel was fabulous, could not fault it, the room was lovely and clean, the bed was comfy, the food was excellent, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, could not of asked for a better experience, would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family😊
It was quite peaceful so we were able to relax.
Also, The Mission Room was a good base for days out visiting various other places. Malpas Village was nice and had some lovely places to eat out, and there's a delicatessen and gift shop. Altogether lovely.
We did not have breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Large comfortable room with windows on three sides, quiet, peaceful. Lovely location, not very far from Malpas which is an interesting friendly village.
The hostess was very kind and considerate.
The location is very good if you want to drive around the Cheshire countryside and you are three mile away from one of the finest country pubs with excellent food , the Cholmondeley Inn. Very nice host and well made English breakfast.
Beautiful cottage, spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. The extra breakfast package was excellent quality and value for money. Set in beautiful countryside, handy for Chester and nearby Malpas
Lovely warm & cosy feel to the hotel, beautifully decorated & very well set out. Staff worked very hard & were happy to help out with any requirements.
