Aberdunant Hall, hotel in Llanfrothen

Situated within Snowdonia National Park, Aberdunant Hall is a 17th-century property set within 200-acres of woodland on an idyllic upmarket Holiday Home Park.

My partner and I stayed in a cabana suite for 1 night. We absolutely loved the grounds in which the hotel was based upon. It was an absolutely beautiful location and staff were very helpful in giving us directions to our suite from the check in desk (which was only a 10 second drive away!). Loved the fact there was direct parking outside, and all the facilities the suite had to offer, such as a fully functioning kitchen, the smart TV and a lovely comfy bed. The bathroom was fully stocked and clean and the outdoor seating was lovely too. We came to visit Portmeirion. I went as a child and absolutely loved it so decided to visit as an adult with my partner. It was magical and a must do if you stay here!

Sygun Fawr Country House, hotel in Llanfrothen

Situated in Beddgelert and with Snowdon reachable within 16 km, Sygun Fawr Country House features a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

This was our second time coming to Sygun Fawr and we are were just as happy as the first time! The team at Sygun are very sweet and sociable. Also very kind! The location is beautiful, with mountains right behind the hotel. There are beautiful and well kept gardens, and the rooms are also very lovely, cosy and clean, with very comfortable beds. The location of the hotel itself is also very close to many hiking trails, as well as small towns to visit. In terms of food, breakfast was delicious, with a large selection of items on the menu. Dinner was also very lovely, all the meals were hearty and warm, and very flavourful. They also operate an honesty bar which was lovely. Overall the feeling was very cosy and homey. Will be coming back again and again!

Queens Hotel, hotel in Llanfrothen

Located in Blaenau-Ffestiniog and with Portmeirion reachable within 18 km, Queens Hotel provides a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

The manager at check-in was welcoming, helpful and was prepared to go 'above & beyond' in terms of our unusual requirements. As the hotel didn't have a chef, we were offered a selection of breakfast packages which seemed to cover most needs. We were also advised about places to eat for dinner, things to do and the simple and reasonable house rules.
