I booked Low Wood as I was there for afternoon tea and spa day I a few weeks ago. I did think that the spa would of been included however this was additional 65 per person.

Excellent hotel, well situated within the small village providing an excellent base for trips out around the area. The hotel and all their staff were very accommodating at meeting my additional request and in fact exceeded them far beyond what I had hoped for. Lovely experience for our two night stay highly recommend.

The location was perfect were the staff apart from one bar man, he was the shorter of two (on duty 20/6/24). He was extremely rude no interaction except for telling you the cost, no please or thank you from him. I complained about him and was told that he has had bad week due to car problems, Boo Hoo. He should not be in the hospitality trade.

Little Langdale is a beautiful area; very green and lush with incredible views of the hills and different landscapes. It's very peaceful, lots of walkers with dogs and fewer vehicles than other more well-know areas around the Lakes. There are short, easy walks to Cathedral Cave (well worth visiting) or longer walks around the area.
The Three Shires in is a perfect spot to stay, with lovely rooms, great food and a charming, flowery, beer garden looking out over hills, trees and delightful local cottages.

On the recommendation of a waiter at Three Shires we took a walk to Elterwater starting at a footpath from Wilson's farm - quite stoney and a little wet in parts but mostly down hill - lovely little village. We had our evening meal at the Three Shires each night - excellent food.

Breakfast is excellent. Dry cured bacon and poached eggs to perfection. Staff are unfailingly helpful from moment of arrival. Place is everything. It’s a fantastic base to explore Little Langdale and gets away from the jamboree of Ambleside etc.
Convenient location for south Lake District. Lovely comfortable cosy hotel and bar with very helpful, friendly and hospitable staff
