Astella Lodge., hotel in Kilve

Set in West Quantoxhead in the Somerset region, Astella Lodge. Has a patio. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking.

The lodge location was perfect, pub 5 minutes walk and tourist attractions and the coast a short drive away. The Lodge itself was so clean, comfortable and quiet with its own outdoor space and stunning sunset view from upstairs. We received a lovely welcome and we had everything we needed for our relaxing weekend break.

The staff friendly & helpful Lovely evening meal

The staff friendly & helpful Lovely evening meal breakfast was lovely My only concern were other occupants leaving rooms and leaving the doors to bang on closure - you only had to hold the door to close without banging to stop disturbing other residents

The beach at Kilve and the cliff walks are the highlight and probably the sole reason one might choose to stop there. A quiet sleep village with a Post Office/General Store. We ate dinner in the Hood Arms where we stayed. It was very busy, always a good sign, and there were good choices, well cooked and we didn't feel rushed.

Kilve Beach has interesting geological features and good for fossil hunting, we found ammonites there. We were wary of the problems with fines in the car park after reading reviews so walked from The Hood Arms where we stayed 3 nights. Pleasant 20 minute walk. Green area and seats at the top of the beach and wonderful views. Recommend the Hood Arms for food and stay.

Fortunately, we had pre-read all the negative reviews about parking at the beach and because we were staying close enough to walk avoided any issues. Our visit was short due to the inclement weather. The beach is challenging to access, more a place of contemplation and mindfulness. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset before the heavens opened.

Lovely walk from Pardlestone Farm to Kilve beach.

Lovely walk from Pardlestone Farm to Kilve beach. Good village pub serving excellent food. Kilve is ideally situated to visit Dunster (A must), Minehead, Taunton and Bridgewater. For walkers the Quantocks are beautiful.

Beautiful, homely farmhouse. We were made to feel at home by Ann and Mark as soon as we arrived with tea and cake and a roaring fire in the lounge. The bedroom is done to a high standard and breakfast was exceptional, with homemade jams and apple juice and a lovely full English. We also had a superb evening meal at the Hood Arms in Kilve.
