The Dorset Arms Cottage & Pub Rooms, hotel in Hever

The Dorset Arms Cottage & Pub Rooms is situated in Groombridge, 13 km from Hever Castle, 26 km from Ightham Mote, and 32 km from Glyndebourne Opera House.

Beautiful rural location. Great staff and service. Excellent food. Local ales in fine condition. Plenty of character throughout, combines being a pub and a restaurant very well. Very well maintained grounds with extensive outside seating. Very comfortable accommodation in the cottage, which is away from the main road so it’s quiet at night. Huge bathroom (deluxe double) with bath and powerful shower. It’s everyone I’d expect from a Sawday’s recommendation. B&B cost £160 which is ok in this post-covid era.

Taylour House - Edenbridge, hotel in Hever

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Taylour House - Edenbridge provides accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi.

Taylour House and its owner Caroline are just Fabulous …. Caroline was fast in replying, really helpful and welcoming … our arrival time changed to being when it was dark and she’d popped back to the property to turn some lights on so we weren’t fumbling around - so thoughtful. The house was excellent - my partner and I were hosting friends for my 50th so we had a sit down lunch in the beautiful dining room which comfortably sits 8 and also played quiz games in the lounge which is lovely and spacious. Everyone agreed the beds were absolute bliss to sleep in. I made enquiries about another property on this site and had such a contrast in comms from the owner I’m so happy I went with my gut and booked with Caroline - hopefully we will find a reason to return! THANK YOU CAROLINE FOR MAKING YOUR HOUSE AVAILABLE AND SUCH WONDERFUL PLACE YO STAY XX

A real hidden gem of a place.

A real hidden gem of a place. Walking distance from the historic hever castle and the local pub. Our hosts Wendy and Ivor were so nice and welcoming. The rooms are spotlessly clean and of a very hi standard. The grounds and gardens of the cottage are beautifull. If your looking for a quiet relaxing getaway then this is the place .

There is really not much here other than Hever Castle, the church, and a really good pub restaurant. You can hit Chartwell on your way to your next place. Worth a 2 night stay. The Castle is great, beautiful gardens, lots of walking, an US tycoon renovated building with excellent original history. Great place to bring kids, lots of distractions. The church has a great collection of original brasses, including a superb one of Anne Boleyn's dad. The Henry VIII pub/restaurant is the only game in town, fortunately it is quite good, Friendly service, really good food, make sure to book ahead.
