The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped, with thoughtful touches such a bunch of roses and food necessities (milk, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, etc). The location was perfect.

Very helpful and friendly. Great room. Very clean. I turned up as a last minute booking soaking wet and cold whilst walking the pennine way and it was the perfect sanctuary.

This was the problem Heptonstall is great and the cottage...
This was the problem Heptonstall is great and the cottage was sold as Heptostall, two nice pubs, a bowling club, cobbled main street, historic churches, Old Chapel and loads of history including the final resting place of David Hartley "King of the Coiners" but this was completely misrepresented as the cottage is not in Heptonstall it's in Old Town another hill top village across the valley which has little or no character.. We were totally misled as the original booking made no mention of Old Town (they've altered this a couple of days ago since our complaint) and in my opinion it was intentional as it made it considerably more appealing to say it was in Heptonstall which has nothing to do with Old Town.
There is no way we would have booked if we had know and feel very let down! The owner laid the blame on booking .com. which I find hard to believe. We had expressly booked for Heptonstall as we used to live there 30 + years ago and still have friends there. With drink and driving a no no we couldn't enjoy a social evening in the pubs with them due to the distance from Old Town.

Coiners Rest is a stunning cottage in the Calderdale valley.
Coiners Rest is a stunning cottage in the Calderdale valley. Approx 1 mile from Hebden Bridge. The cottage is tastefully furnished with a modern bathroom and kitchen. Immaculately clean with an excellent host who was on hand to provide advice and information for our stay. We have loved staying there, just wish we could have stayed a bit longer. Beautiful hidden gem in a stunning location with local facilitates on the doorstep.
Heptonstall Village itself, is a stunning old village with amazing walks in three valley’s. The village is served with handy buses into nearby Hebden Bridge. Heptonstall has one traditional pub the White Lion and one Thai Restaurant. A community post office which sells fruit cheese food essentials as well as the usual sweets and postal services. There is a fantastic tea room which serves brilliant breakfast brunch/lunch. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside with fanatic walks in valleys and along the Pennine way. It’s served BBC documentaries and was used to film parts of Happy Valley and is perfectly located with access into Lancashire and Haworth
Halifax/Hebden Bridge.
