The Bonnie Badger, hotel in Gullane

The Bonnie Badger features a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Gullane. Built in 19th century, this 5-star hotel is within 2.9 km of Aberlady Bay Beach and 1.3 km of Muirfield.

We were made very welcome at The Bonnie Badger by all the staff who were very friendly. The room was beautifully clean - gorgeous bath! We travelled with our dog and she was also made very welcome - a bed and bowl were provided. We were absolutely delighted that Maisie was also welcome in the Stable Restaurant as we had thought we may only be able to eat in the Bar area. The food was exquisite for both of our evening meals - the breakfast was high quality. It was lovely to have the jars with the fresh fruit and the special apple, yoghurt and home-made granola - this all made such a welcome change to the usual breakfast buffet approach of other hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - whilst it was busy, we still felt it was peaceful and private. Thank you to everyone at the Bonnie Badger.

Excellent location for touring the area and for golfing. Friendly residents and good amenities. Good selection of eating establishments -- not disappointed with any. Aberlady, North Berwick- parking is a problem unless your are an early riser, Dunbar, Dirleton all worth a visit with good cafes etc.

3rd stay in Gullane love the location beach is amazing, plenty shops to stock up if self catering. Chip shop is amazing and had meal at Bonnie Badger can’t recommend enough, Grace of India in Aberlady didn’t disappoint with our curry night, you get what you pay for with them all not the cheapest but definitely the best we’ve had. Close to plenty of places to visit, Archerfield Walled Garden well worth the walk or drive, our first time. Gullane is close to small railway stations for ease of visiting Edinburgh and North Berwick, buses also on high street. Golfers paradise but we don’t golf but still perfect either way. So plenty walks, great food, doorstep shops and cafes, public transport if needed whats not to like

We loved staying at this newly renovated apartment which we found out to be a former hotel which the Army also used during WW2. It’s super modern, light and airy in white, greys and yellows with lovely high ceilings. It’s cleaned to a very high standard with all that we needed for our two-night stay. Only a 40 min drive into Edinburgh, as well as so many surrounding golf courses! Grateful for the parking space too - all was easy to find with the pre-arrival email by Graham.

Lovely apartment with everything we needed, and things we didn’t know we needed, to make our stay enjoyable. There are several places to eat within easy walking distance and some nice shops in the village. We were in the area to play golf but there are lots of other things to do nearby if golf isn’t your thing. The secure garden was an unexpected bonus especially on sunny days.
