Wonderful room, excellent food and Wifi and interesting history. One of my favorite places to stay
Set in 9 acres of parkland, the hotel is well placed for Guildford, Woking and the M25. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel, and free parking on site.

The restaurant at the hotel is very good. The Ribeye is probably one of the best we’ve had. Much better than what you do get at the overpriced and underwhelming The Plough Inn in Cobham.

I visited the Watts Gallery & Artists Village including Mary Watts chapel. It's near the village of Compton. Took bus No.46 from Bus Station (stand 5) leaving at 10:15am. The place opens at 10:30am and spent a great four hours there. Check out official website, especially if interested in 19th century English arts & crafts movement.
Guildford town centre has lots of alley ways off the very long High Street that were interesting to explore; varied restaurants, bars and shopping.

I was there for business, not as a tourist, so cannot comment in detail. The traffic can be very troublesome. The property where I stayed was outside the main town centre, which would cause me to choose it again.

Firstly, Guildford is a very busy little town, with a dual carriageway splitting the place in two. The cathedral is definitely worth a visit, stunning architecture and views of the surrounding area. Lots of choice for dining and drinking. If you like a trad pub with good choice of beer and live music, then try the Star on Quarry Street. Recommended.

Small town vibe.
Small town vibe. Very vibrant and l enjoyed the delicious cuisines. I don't like the fact that everything shuts down at 6pm even on a weekend.
The closing time should be looked into, especially on the weekends.

Bit tricky to find town centre.
Bit tricky to find town centre. Cobbled streets are lovely but not ideal for wheelchairs. Nice individual shops and eateries. The park and ride signage remains but is no longer running. Parked in York car park. The exit to town centre is on level 9 but no signage

Lovely old market town.
Lovely old market town. Interesting individual shops, as well as the usual chains.
Lovely river walk with good riverside pub for lunch or dinner.
Interesting castle with beautiful spring flowers.
A theatre with good range of performances.
Older people should be aware the High Street is quite a steep hill.
Lovely town - many nice places to eat.
Everything. Most beautiful hotel I’ve stayed at, accommodating and friendly staff, the building itself is a marvel and with so much history. The grounds are incredible. Thank you to Andrei who made my stay hassle free. I was even upgraded to a luxury stay in the dog friendly rooms and it was so relaxing and comfortable, it included a bathtub, in a bathroom where the windows open, it was lovely. I’ll never forget this place.
Fabulous location.
I have been visiting this hotel since mid 1980s.
Major major expansion and developments since I was last here 5 years ago.
Immaculate gardens.
It is possible despite what google maps and the hotel information to arrive at the entrance by public transport.
From Guildford Friary bus station which is very near the train station take the Dorking Compass bus.
15 mins ride.
Sue is a friendly, available and organized host. Her house and the room were really clean and quiet. The room is a studio with all utensils and amenities to cook, including fridge, microwave and oven. Mattress are really confortable. Central location in Guildford, close to public transport. Stay in family in the 3-person room/small studio with windows on the street.
The flat was centrally located in Guildford and within walking distance to shopping, transportation, and restaurants. The check-in process was smooth and staff very helpful. The flat was nice and modern with lots of space. Staff were friendly and attentive. We very much enjoyed our stay.
The excellent quality of food whether it was breakfast or dinner. The spa relaxation facilities. The staff were all accommodating and very social. It felt like a resort more than just a hotel. The exquisite green natural area around the hotel which was ideal for walks in the afternoon.
The staff were all superbly customer-focussed in this hotel--noticeably more so than in other Holiday Inns even
The property was very nicely redecorated
The breakfast and evening meal were good.
It was a short and easy drive to Guildford
We did have a fridge in our room
Great location and good value for money compared to the hotels in Guildford.
Property was clean and had everything I needed for my one night stay.
Great communication from the owner when I asked a question.
Would use again if I’m ever in Guildford again.
Beautifully converted garage with every convenience necessary for a visit to Guildford. It's bright, spacious and less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of Guildford's main shopping area. Definitely better than a bed only booking in a hotel.
Lovely hotel, staff were lovely and attentive. Great location within walking distance of Guildford town. The room was a nice size for the price. Have stayed here 3 times over a couple of years and will keep coming back for sure.
The room was a good size ,Sunday was a breakfast served by the waiter and Monday was buffet both were lovely and the staff were very helpful with anything you wanted. And only a 5 minute walk to Guildford town centre.
It was fine, it's cheap apartment close to Guildford town centre. It could do with a bit of a refresh. It's a clean, spacious apartment which could adequately hold four people with two bathrooms and bedrooms.
The two reception staff with whom I dealt were very polite, professional, courteous. The omelette at breakfast was superb, and the hotel has good coffee. I also like the convenient short walk to/from town.
This is our favourite hotel in Guildford. Location is fantastic, staff is super friendly and each is different, which makes every stay feel unique. I love the decoration and all the effort put into it.
Just what we needed for visiting friends. They were delighted with the place and found it spacious, comfy and well equipped. It's really close to Guildford Town centre and the railway station
It was our 2 nd time in this hotel but in this occasion our breakfast was not up to standard. We were promised by receptionist that we would be refunded our 2 breakfasts but haven’t as yet
Friendly, helpful reception staff. Big room with comfortable bed and bedding. Good rainfall shower. Excellent location on Guildford High Street and close to the station.
We had such a lovely room, it was advertised as the smallest one but it was definitely big enough for us. We loved the hotel and we had a great breakfast as well.
