Really nice. We booked a suite which was Ideal for our family with separate twin room for the children and large modern stylish bathroom. It's the second time we have stayed in the same suite and would really recommend it. We had a really good time there and would definitely use again if we are travelling to the area.

A nice hotel, a short walk from the centre of town with a good fitness club attached. The Bar was also good. The rooms themselves were very spacious with a lovely view over the river towards town.

On the edge of The Lake District, this country inn offers rooms with private bathrooms, traditionally furnished, each room features a TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Large room. OK bed (could accommodate a king-size easily in the room). Dressing table/desk which was good, although needed lighting on it. Tray for dirty footwear which was a great idea.

    Everything was first class and Merryll was an excellent host...

    Everything was first class and Merryll was an excellent host and communicator. Walk up to Whinfell Beacon as recommended by host was excellent- fantastic views at the beacon was a great reward. We took a picnic to spend more time at the top to soak in the views in the sunshine.
