The landlord and staff were extremely friendly. The room was very spacious with a king size bed and view over the adjoining valley. Food was great. Portloe is a very quaint and tiny fishing village. Great location along the coast path.
Situated in St Austell and with Little Polstreath Beach reachable within 600 metres, Ship inn features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

Breakfasts and staff were very good the downside was that the room was quite small , the shower was difficult to operate and very noisy early in the morning (5.30) when the suppliers unloaded I should have realised as it is in the centre of Megavissey! The staff though were excellent.

Really liked Gorran Haven, the local people we met were very friendly. The village shop had good opening times and sold a good range, including fresh bread.
We were unable to taste the fish and chips as we were early in the season and it did not open until end of March.
Would love to return.

Gorran Haven is a little village just south of Mevagissy that has just enough facilities for the size of the village. 2 Cafe's, a FIsh and Chip shop and an Ice Cream shop selling general beach needs as well
Be aware, the roads into Gorran Haven are extremely narrow and the roads are very steep getting down to the beach and seem even steeper getting back up again!
Being a secluded cove, the water is calm and the beach is sandy. I great place to swim or just paddle

The hotel is in a beautiful location with comfy beds.
The hotel is in a beautiful location with comfy beds. However we were very disappointed with our stay. The dining menu is limited and the food is very poor. We complained twice about this and found the attitude of the staff to be indifferent.....and no management response. Staff are poorly trained - leave dirty glasses on the patio and do not clean tables regularly. Steps into hotel are scattered with litter and not regularly swept.
Rooms are spacious and expensively furnished but ergonomically the rooms are poorly designed,
Breakfast was very good. But the evening dining was a very disappointing experience - which was due to their difficulty in recruiting a decent chef all summer - as there are no nearby places to eat due to remote location we had picked this hotel because its website promised a great dining experience .

Very pretty area with a good sized Sandy beach and small harbour. Dog and children friendly with a strict Dogs on leads policy from beginning of season until September.
Steep hills so wouldn’t recommend for people with walking difficulties.
There is a beach front cafe, excellent fish and chip shop, convenience shop small outdoor bar and Toilets, all within walking distance of the beach.

Quiet with lots of places to explore and some fantastic coastal walks. Good place to branch out into the wider areas beaches, landmarks and gardens that Cornwall has to offer. Best fish and chips are served at the Haven Fish and Chip shop right on your nearest beach doorstep and there are lovely Cornish pasties including vegetarian options at Cakebread bakeries. Quiet, simple perfect place to recharge your batteries.

A very chilled out location.
A very chilled out location. Only 1 excellent Fish and Chip Shop. Shop, Cakebreads serving alcohol as well as produce for self catering. Small Beachside cafe which was perfect. Only one hotel , The LLawnroc. Excellent food and bar with huge sun terrace seating area.Staff are all excellent. Spotlessly clean.
We had a lovely week at Gorran Haven staying at Top Deck. The bungalow is well situated in a peaceful area but handy for the beach and all local facilities. The bungalow is spacious, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, Large lounge/dining area, and a good kitchen. It is well stocked with everything you need for a good holiday. The views from the decking at the rear of the property, looking out to the sea and the countryside, are stunning. Highly recommended.
It was a lovely location with a nice short walk to the little harbour and the local Fish and Chip shop served wonderful freshly cooked food. A word of caution though the stroll back to the Hotel is quite steep! The rooms were nice and large. The bed is very comfy.
The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Car parking facilities were very good
Welcoming hosts.
Location: Gorran Haven is an absolute gem.
Great place to stay for Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey, Charlestown and all other attractions in the area.
Beach.
Mermaid Beach Cafe: smoothies especially good.
Haven Fish and chips
Cakebreads; Shop cum Post Office and outdoor bar; what's not to like !
Beautiful location and when the sun shines it lights up every room. Such a cosy cottage with everything you need to have a relaxing holiday.
Five minutes stroll and you are on the beach. Gorran Haven itself is very friendly.
The property was very clean and comfortable. Fantastic location. We have stayed in many cottages in Gorran Haven as we used to live there. We would certainly come back to Cliff Cottage
