Its a busy town with plenty of good eating and drinking options and a variety of accommodation options. Ideal as a base for climbing Ben Nevis, but remember all the other options here - not just all the mountains, but lakes and places to visit.

The scenery is spectacular.
The scenery is spectacular. You are surrounded by the Cairngorm mountains, including Ben Nevis and there are lots of lochs in the area too. Lots of outdoor activities are available. The town is small and a little rundown, however there is some beautiful architecture and interesting bits to see. We went to the West Highland Museum very interesting and informative, staff were very friendly and welcoming. We visited the Ben Nevis Inn for dinner, definitely worth a visit, right at the foot of the mountain. Atmosphere and food were great. They also had live music. Might need to book.

Nice, small town.
Nice, small town. We drank the first really good beer from a local (Black Isle) brewery! Very busy town, hard to find a place to eat if you have no reservation, didn't expect that in april. Lovely for a short stay though.

I went up for a job interview and fell in love with the views which were breathtaking. The people were polite and welcoming on the whole. The food was good when we had dinner or lunch outside the hotel.
A beautiful hotel with majestic views over Loch Linnhe, and walking distance to the town centre with plenty of restaurants, shops and pubs. Clean and comfortable with its own very good restaurant and bar, and professional, courteous staff who make you feel welcome. (There is also plenty of parking). We will definitely stay at Cruachan again, Fort William is the perfect gateway to the Scottish Highlands, Ben Nevis, and many other wonderful sites and we can’t wait for our next visit.
Breakfast excellent. Room small but certainly adequate, and quiet. Location good -- scenic, and not a long walk to the High Street. Desk clerk Karen was a joy, especially after the horrid treatment we had in Oban at Glenburnie House. You have good reason to be proud of her. She represented Cruachan, Fort William and Scotland admirably. I do public travelogues on Scotland and I will recommend Cruachan.
The B&B was cozy and comfortable. The room was large and the shower was amazing. The bed was very comfy. They provided lots of shower accessories The room’s walls are a little thin so keep that in mind :). The breakfast was delicious with many options for continental and a choice of hot. We walked into Fort William and it only took us 25 minutes. A lovely little high street to explore.
The Garrison was a brilliant hotel in the heart of Fort William. I loved how this hotels welcome dogs as wee took our wee staffy with us. The room was clean, I felt it was a good size for what it is for a nice cosy bed for the night. We will definitely be staying her again with and without our pup. Thank you for a wonderful stay and the snacks in the room (that were complimentary).
Lovely medium sized hotel facing the Loch and hills with great views many rooms and also from the dining room. Easy to find located just south of the town of Fort William in a calm and quiet area. Lovely hot highlands breakfast was a bonus and the dinner was excellent quality and not expensive for the area.
Great value hotel in a perfect location. You are close to the main street full with lovely shops and great pubs. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was really friendly and helpful in recommending activities. I would book it again if I come back to Fort William.

The staff were very kind. The room we had was great. Had a cozy bed and bathroom.
Amazing hotel breakfast as well!
Excellent location with a view of the loch. Just outside of the bustle of town, but close to everything you will come to Fort William for. The apartment was stocked with everything you will need for dining in. Hosts were very responsive to questions.
Perfect location in the centre of Fort William. We were treated to a fantastic cooked breakfast every morning. We really liked hotel
Everything was spotless and we felt very well looked after.
All staff members were very high credit to hotel
Great and restful facility with ample parking. The host was very welcoming. We had the place to ourselves, so the kitchen and gathering room were a great place to relax. Good location in Fort William, especially for hiking Ben Nevis.
The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close enough to Fort William town centre to not be an issue getting there yet far enough to get a calm atmosphere. The panoramic views of the loch were also fantastic!
The hotel is located right next to the lift up to Ben Nevis, which makes it convenient for going up if you need to. We didn't go up, we were just exploring the area around Ben Nevis and Fort William.
The hotel is in a beautiful location in Fort William, right next to the lake with good access to the town just a few mintues awat. Unfortunately that is the only positive about this hotel.
This is an amazing place to stay in Fort William! You will be greeted warmly by the owners, and the accommodations have everything you need. And the view is incredible!
The property was in a great location for exploring Fort William and Ben Nevis. It was on a lovely quiet street and the house was quite spacious and comfortable.
