The staff at the hotel were outstanding. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and more, with a special mention to reception staff. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and quality, and served with a smile. The room was clean and airy and the spa a very welcome visit after a long drive. We would recommend and will definitely return.
In the centre of Fareham with easy access to the M27 motorway, this 18th-century coaching inn offers spacious, classic rooms with private bathrooms. Its bar features real ales and leather sofas.
In the heart of Fareham, Lysses House is an elegant Georgian hotel on the High Street, a short walk from the town centre and easily accessible from the M27.

Property was nice. Stupidly overpriced for what you get.
Situated 10 minutes’ drive from Portsmouth town centre and South Downs National Park, The Roundabout Hotel offers an on-site 70-seater restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi.

The staff and food (especially the homemade pies) were excellent....so friendly. They made such a fuss of our dog Bella, would definitely go back. It is situated on a busy roundabout but we couldn't hear the traffic. We were in a room at the back overlooking the carpark. We walked into Fareham Town which was about 10 minutes..it is slightly uphill with plenty of shops but not too busy. There is also 2 pubs down the road from the hotel which do food too.
We got the bus from around the corner to Portsmouth which took about an hour.
We stayed for 3 days then moved on but we came back a few days later to have the pies again...the chef is only a young lad, keep up the good work!
The Hotel is basic but we loved it!
Set in 32 acres of exquisite parkland, this hotel combines a Grade 1 listed manor house with a modern conference centre and modern rooms with free WiFi.

Attending a function so ideal to stay over.
Clean and comfortable.
Reasonable price
Offering a garden and garden view, Springbank Studio is situated in Fareham, 14 km from Portsmouth Harbour and 18 km from Ageas Bowl. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking.
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Fareham this weekend is £120 or, for a 4-star hotel, £142. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Fareham for this weekend cost on average around £280 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Strange. The town had all the shops and amenities, and particularly coffee shops, pubs and food outlets, but the town was quiet throughout all of 2 weekdays. Its a nice enough place but seemed deserted, even inside the shopping centre.
Waterstones book store seemed to have a very different range of books on British/Foreign history than its other locations, and I could have stayed there for hours. Fareham Library is also well equipped with reference material on local history. Though much of the town has been rebuilt or had new facades, and its past is vanishing.
Boy, that train station is a long walk away from the town centre !
Would recommend the Golden Lion for food/drink and conversation.

Fareham is a lovely old unspoilt example of georgian houses and buildings, interlaced with newer builds along the high street. It has a lovely atmosphere and is well worth a visit, as you can easily drive down to the local historic dockyards and go to the only Hovercraft museum in the world.

Fareham has plenty of shops, cheap pubs and eateries.
Fareham has plenty of shops, cheap pubs and eateries. It's an ideal situation for us to stay as we have family in Fareham, Hamble Le Rice and Hayling Island. Wickham is a lovely village just 10 minutes drive away and a bus runs there from Fareham. Wickham has great parking and lovely shops and eateries, would recommend a visit.

Like most small towns Fareham has suffered a little over the years with some of the bigger shops now gone and that has had a knock of effect. I used to live in Fareham until I retired some 7 years ago but do get back from time to time .it’s location makes it ideal as an access point to Southampton, Portsmouth and the south coast and the New forest.

Great situation near shops and public transport.
Great situation near shops and public transport. Hotel and restaurant staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals I had very generous portions and well cooked.
Couldn't get WiFi which was restricting and difficult to contact people, although lady in Reception tried to help. No lift to the higher floors and no person available to help with luggage.

A pity that the wedding guests filled up lounge area.
A pity that the wedding guests filled up lounge area. So nowhere’s to sit
Also lots of little children running about and screaming without supervision whilst eating our meal
Very off putting
Restaurant staff said happens regularly and disturbs diners
The Roundabout Hotel is an old building, so had lots of character. The room was bigger than expected, which was lovely.
We overlooked the roundabout and were only minutes off a busy main road, so thought it might be noisy overnight. However, even with a window slightly opened it wasn't noisy.
Staff were friendly and answered any questions we had.
Also, we walked into Fareham, was one of the friendliest places I've ever visited. Staff in lots of the shops and the cafe were very friendly and chatty.
Location is great with Whitely Village down the road and close to Southampton and Portsmouth.
Plenty of parking.
Good size room, lovely big, comfy bed and fab shower.
Good amount of storage for clothes etc and nice to have an iron and board in the room.
Great size telly, good amount of sockets and USB Ports around the room.
Good controls for adjusting the temperature of the room, which are easy to use.
Free WiFi, that worked well.
Hotel was quiet and we slept well.
The service I received prior to arriving at the hotel was exemplary. I was contacted by a member of staff to organise dinner and breakfast reservations. This same member of staff kept going above and beyond with any and all queries I sent them.
The hotel itself is lovely and very well facilitated. Some of my party used the spa and commented about how nice it was. We also had dinner there which was wonderful
I travel to Spain via Portsmouth on a regular basis. Because of the early timing of the ferry it is easier to stay over in Portsmouth on the evening before sailing. I have now found the perfect hotel. Set in the grounds of an old manor house the hotel is first class. Excellent rooms, first class restaurant, wonderful staff. I will be staying here on a regular basis. Thankyou
Location is ideal base for Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport, and Lee on Solent
Property is in a very quiet area and is ideal for dog owners and near water
Dee is an ideal host and will go out of her way to make your stay memorable
The large outdoor Pagoda is an added bonus after a busy day relaxing with a beer or glass of wine and a good book
Location was a good base from which to visit both Southampton and Portsmouth. The hotel gym and pool were great. Gym was well equipped and the pool area was a great place to chill out afterwards. Breakfast was fabulous. Although it was busy at breakfast, the food was piping hot and well stocked. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
I’ve been to Solent hotel many times before and decided to take my dear friends for a girls’ weekend away. The location is excellent - close to seaside, lovely beaches, Portsmouth etc The hotel itself is also very nice with nice decor and pleasant spa area and large garden with lots seatings
Lovely house in a beautiful location, lovely warm and friendly. Bedroom is the same size as my first house. Garden is great to walk around and it's so quiet. Great for Southampton or Portsmouth. I would recommend this to all my friends and am booking again myself.
Small double was what it said it would be. Basic but clean warm and comfortable. Good value for the price. Location of the hotel is great. Walking distance straight into the town but as the accommodation is to the rear it was quite quiet. Free parking was good.
The flat was lovely. Everything you could need for a short stay and better than a b & b as you have cooking facilities. All immaculately clean and fairly new modern building. Central site in Fareham town within easy reach of everything.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Lodge at Solent and would 100% stay again.
The rooms were very modern clean and very impressive.
The accommodation cost was competive and location distant was fantastic for Southampton cruise port
Nice tasty breakfast. Not equivalent to a Premier Inn breakfast, but unfortunately the same price. Breakfast serving staff were helpful, but a bit young and timid. Good proximity to the Harvester restaurant and to Fareham station.
The young lady on reception was amazing, I've stayed a few times and I always feel welcomed.
Breakfast is great and the young waitress is so lovely and polite.
I live in Wales and work in fareham, I'll always choose this hotel
Clean and neat. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Great restaurant and bar attached centrally located in Fareham within walking distance of all shops, train station, and bus station.
